I am starting my degree program next week, for my bachelors in Computer Animation. Granted, I've been doing art almost my whole life unschooled. Doodling, here and there, and have recently started the modeling thing. It's truly fun and interesting to me to see things I do on paper become three dimensional objects! I am still such a n00b at doing modelling, but I figure once I get the basics down it'll be a bit smoother.
My question is, I know there are some misgivings about going to the 'International Academies' because of everyone moans about their 'accreditations' but they seem to have more accreditations then they used too.
Anyhow, does anyone know people attending or have graduated?
I would of tried to get into Ringling Art College in Sarasota, if I had the money and my wife could of supported me. But alas, the only way I 'could' get to go back to 'art' college was to go the "International Academy of Design and Technology" and get my Associates in Computer Animation, they are about 3 months from being accredited for the Bachelors program which I will extend into after the next 18 months.
Anyhow, I was just wondering. At 29 years old, I felt I should 'FINALLY' go back to school and do what I've always wanted to do, especially since the GI Bill will be paying for a small portion of it.
Thanks for any guidance info, etc.

My first slate of classes I start next week are
Interpersonal Communication
Animation Drawing Basics
Fundamentals of Graphic Design for Computer Animation
and History of Business of Animation
I know school is more or less what you put into it, and I plan on putting all my might and work into the next few years of schooling. It's what I've always wanted to do. |
