I'm right handed, and about 90% right brained (the art side). I figure my right brain is just freakin' nuts, which is why my left hand just goes everywhere when I try to use it, and my left brain is used purely to take the crazy signals from my right brain and convert them in to something my right hand can actually do. |

Im a lefty for most things, however I do a few things with my right. Believe it or not that chance of someone being left-handed is only 10%, and the right hemisphere of the brain is the one with all the creative neurons, ere go lefties are usually more creative at an earlier age as well as have an easier time learning to draw etc...
If you have ever sat there drawing and noticed that time flies by and you go into a sort of "zone", that's usually referred to as right-brain mode. If you read "Drawing on the right side of the brain" (sorry forgot the name of the author, but its a woman), it tells you alot about this sort of thing. |

I can write with both my left and right hand. it looks pretty much the same, except the left takes longer. I do all artwork with my right hand, unless I need a straight line or something, then I use my left.

Hi Jabber,
I think we had the same stupid art teacher.
I wasn't told the left hand was more artistic.
But, my old art teacher said a similar stupid comment to me....She said that she was shocked
I was so talented...Because only talented artists had long flowing fingers.
Some people are ignorant (and stupid!) |

A righty here. I could see how one could say that left handed people are more talented in the art area (seeing as the left hand is controlled by the right side of the brain) but... I know programmers/engineers that are left-handed and can't even maange to draw a stick figure
I think it's all in the person, not just their hands. |

It's all just practice. For instance, I've been playing piano since I was four, and so I can use both of my hands rather equally. This, fork in right hand onlny when there is no knife present is nonsense, who actually thinks that way anywho? I just use the hand thats closest to what I want. Mind you, I can't print with my left hand, unless I'm writing backwards. I can write words that look perfect in a mirror with my left hand, and rather quickly I might add!
P.S. Your brain sends all its signals down the same pipe anywho, it doesnt matter what side they start on!! It Might matter however, if your eyes aren't on the same ground parallel, like this guy later! |

I'm left handed but since this is a right handed world I've become ambidextrous. Like with scissors! I eat, write and use my mouse with my left hand. I throw, bat and shoot (bow and arrow) with my right. My kindergarten teacher tried to change me to right hand but it didn't work. I blame her for my messy handwriting.
