i was just wondering...who here is left handed and who is right? i once had an art teacher comment on the artistic ability of the left hand dominate population in comparrison to the right.

im a left, but im also a bit ambidexterious.

Hm...I use both hands for drawing, my right hand for writing, my left for eating and using the mouse, and either one for random tasks.

I don't have that much of a preference, but if someone were going to cut off one of my hands, I'd want them to take the left one, because it gets tired faster.

Left handed with some ambidextrous tendancies =)

I can throw right handed and of course I do mouse work right handed. *shrugs*

I draw right hand when doing board work, but left with my tablet. Right with my mouse. Left eating and drink (but that's because I taught myself to do that so I don't bump elbows when I have dinner with my b/f. He's left handed). Write with my right and do a lot of odd and end task with both. I think I'm more right handed though.

Right handed here.
(tho' i've trained the left to do somewhat more than it used to be able to, after breaking my right-hand and arm several times)

My mother always said that civilized people eat with their knife in their right hand and their fork in their left. Out of habit, I always do this still. Except when I don't have a knife, in which case I transfer the fork to my right hand.

When I first started writing I would use my left hand, but because of my parents being old-fashioned at the time, they forced me to use my right hand instead. Now I am completely right-handed but I wish I were able to regain the left-handedness back. It would be kinda cool to be ambidextrous, but I think at age 21 whatever connections have been made in the brain to determine handedness are pretty well cemented.

Primarily a righty. I started off being totally ambidextrous in my younger years, then went almost totally right, and over the last few years I've been using left more, but right more than that. Yeah. @:-)

Technically I'm right handed, but I do some things like eating left handed, which used to disturb family members to no end.

So put me down for Right handed with ambidexterous leanings...

it's funny how many lefties or ambidextrous people have replied.

a lot of people with ambidextrous tendencies are actually lefties who were forced by parents/society to use their right hand. so you see a lot of like, writing with the right, eating with left, wanking with right, etc.

it also causes some left-right confusion. everyone knows their left and right obviously but for lefties there can still be a delay or a little confusion associated with it.

lefties are more prone to dyslexia and reading/writing disorders. and they smell a little bit too.

but lefties make for great artists so i guess it all evens out in the end .

and yes forgive me for my gross generalizations . im righty btw.

I use my right hand and my mouth (I'm practicing it anyways, in case accident happens) for painting, and use only my right hand for drawing.

The right side of the brain (the "creative" side) does, in fact, control your left hand . . . but the part of it that is used for being creative is much different than the part used for activating muscles and sensing touch. Your art teacher needs to study some brain anatomy.

I'm right handed. I've tried writing with my left hand a few times but it always looks like I was in 1st grade all over again.

I use my right hand. I'm rather creative though i've been told that my rational side favours over my emotive side.
