Try a cryptic symbol or a 'tag'. Looks arty that way. Some sign the back of the piece or doodle stuff there in relation to their work. Just don't start putting :-) at the bottom, or I will track you down and end your life.

IMHO, an artist's work is his signature, the means by which he translates his style and identity in such a way as to be instantly recognisable.

Obviously, a bit hard to do in matte work, but I've always tried to resist putting a signature on digital work, though for some reason I sometimes put a signature on sketches.

Ceenda: You should sign matte-work too...I sign my models/animations/images by hiding this little logo in a random place:

It's the first letters of my name, S and N, put together..

ah, i know the problem, i come up with just a written "Duracel" in my handwriting. http://www.duracel.de/ablage/art/drawings/orchiker.jpg
Cause your handwriting tells something about you and a "symbol" is just false (false like false teeth or so). But only the handwriting is a little bit too boring.

Here's a legible one. I'm thinking of creating something that's more of a 'tag'

Lina's sig

my sig always includes a moon and star. notice how they represent a C and A, my initials

I don't sign my digital works. They're all unfinished.
