I missed the original flight, its rescheduled (after 7 hours of nightmare), so some time for details:

Forums are not what they used to be, i know this. I will be doing everything i can to return it to the good old days. It is unfortunate for the forums that i will be leaving for a month today, this isn't something that i was forseeing and it was kind of a last minute trip, I will have internet access from Africa, however i dont know how much and how often. I *may* slowly be able to get more moderators online while there, but i really can't tell at this point. I WILL be doing everything i can when i return (Nov 2) to make this the place it once was. I know and understand that some people may have lost faith in me being able to restore anything here, but i will do what i can to restore that faith. For the time being however, i ask that everyone sort of moderate each other, keep this a nice environment, think twice about negative posts. I'm sorry i can't be here (AGAIN!) for this opening, but it was either this or leave the forums closed until november...which woulda surely killed it.

Anyway, thanks for those of you who stick with us here. I have a good feeling about how things will turn out for these forums in the next few months and i think you'll be happy again with it soon too.

Please please please do what you can to help the positive atmosphere here. If there are problems starting please e-mail me or freddio, (i havent gotten a hold of enayla or sumaleth yet, so i am not sure if they can still help and dont want to burden them with e-mails)

Be Careful on that plane Dhab! I wish you the best while you are in Africa! The forums will always be awesome as long as we have that hand ful of cool people like you and the moderators running this place!

honestly, a couple deleted threads and a new moderator aren't going to prevent much. why was the forum down for so long, with hardly any changes made? if you don't have the time even for that, i don't see how this thing can fly. something this big can only go on auto-pilot for so long, and the stupid arguments are already starting to pop up again.

guess i'm the only downer here, but i was disappointed to see virtually no changes made after all this time, and no discussion of what changes will be made, if they ever are.
