Why not just work in Photoshop, if you have it? The only thing I use Painter for is creating textures for my 3d works - for painting PS is just dandy!

It probably isn't a good idea to use these forums as means of obtaining pirated software. This isn't what this place is meant for. There are plenty of eLit3 haX0r b0arDz for these purposes. Play on IRC for 20 minutes and I'm sure you'll stumble across it.

I guess you could look for a cheap copy of Painter 3 or Painter 5.5 on eBay. Then you can buy the Upgrade (less than half the price of the seperate version on, say, jungle.com) to the latest version and use the serial key as verification.

Perfectly legal, though perhaps still a bit pricey.

Painter sucks without a Wacom tablet anyway. Buy a Wacom and use the Painter Classic that comes with it.

Corel Photo-Paint has a lot of features that are similar to Painter . . . its much better at faking natural media than Photoshop. You can find older copies of it for cheap too . . . I see a copy of version 9 for $69 on Ebay (that's to buy it outright rather than bid).

A good alternative if you're seriously lookin' for one
