Hey guys I'm starting to ink my sketches in Photoshop, Paintshop pro, or corel paint, does anyone know or have any good techniques and how to go about this? I know basically it's the pen tool and such, but I'll also like to see the steps taken from scanning to inking.... then it's colouring and shading ooo boy
thanx guys |

u can use the pen tool or the Paintbrush since they both have varied strokes in PS. Paniter 6+ is also good for digital inking it seems so natural in Painter. |

hands down, the killer app for digital inking is Painter. The inking tools are unmatched but what really tips the iceberg in favor of Painter is the program ability to rotate the canvas while you ink... Just like you would the traditional way. You dont have to do lines that need to be very controlled in a way that would otherwise have been very cramped to do on a tablet - just rotate and do the line. Great!

i totally agree with boomstick.
painter is for sure the best app for inking and other reality-based issues.
besides the ability to rotate the canvas, the high (and i mean high) amount of cutomizability is a very worthy thing hen it comes to individual tastes. just build the inkbrush of your dreams ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
