I am 12 days from 18 is that close enough? Just found out within the past year that there is NO way I could handle some corporate/business job 9-5 every day for the rest of my life. Never took a class or really tried to draw before then. This is a page of sketches I did today while getting off on my pen with ink fetish in painter today.
http://www.tbns.net/xxpzxx/10-23-01.jpg

Its pretty sad =( I dream of being able to draw/paint everything I would like to. I am going to take a year off after high school to work on art and then try to get into an art college of sorts.

/me hopes for a miracle

-PZ-
(oh and I wasnt going for realism in the sketches!)

sorry here's the last image:

Here's the background for all three:
Here we go. I tried to optimize the images for the internet. used gray scale markers. Picked them up for the first time in months.
I created two models. One is the mothership which all the mini subs come to. It does major repairs in the huge pipes. I figured the population in the future would be so huge that most of the canal would be HUMUNGoUS like in Matrix. Its a cross between a mantaray, squid, and bat. The drone is shot off for the extremely small canals and to monitor water flow and properties of the water in specific areas of the canals. It is obviously modeled after a Jellyfish which was the natural pick for a drifter.

You can find more background at the conceptual design forum.

k, i'm 19 now, so i think i can recognize my 18's painting way quite good

in fact, it's the same i am doing now, just a bit more advanced. just impressive how much art improves when visiting forums like sijun etc... lots of inspiration and knowledge

as for style: am i the only one or do you have the same problems about style? one day, i am just fanatic into comics, the other day, i want to draw just something as long there are enough blood splatters on the pic and the third day i want to go for realism... just question of mood, i know
but do you guys and gals differ as much in styles as your mood changes?

Whoops, the pic on the left if the old piece. The pic on the right is the new one. I might paint better, but I still haven't learned my left from my right.

By stange circumustance, during a recent move, I found a painting I did when I was 18. Back then I was a lot more anime inspired. The painting on the right was done for a color ad to a comic that was never produced. I was really proud of it at the time, which is nothing short of embarrasing now. The painting on the right is a recently completed cover to another comic which I finshed a few months ago.

I'm 24 now.
The piece on our left was done when I was 17. The piece on our right was done around a month ago.

Take it easy,

Well... here's something I did when I was 15. I honestly don't think I have much from when I was 18 just because I wasn't in school, I was working a bit and being a general lazy bum

Done in scrachboard, but I guess that's obvious.

Hmn, this was done when I was 18 and doing Art Higher at school. The art teacher let me use his airbrush(a De'Vilbis Super 63, which I managed drop a huge dollop of black ink in the presentation box...).

So yup, perspective terrible and some over saturated airbrush use which warped the paper. Pastel and gauoche used too.

[ EDIT - Beth, that's frikkin' awesome! You certainly got a thing for wolves, gal. ]

Ceenda - I was just about to say the same thing about your piece. Really cool!

And yes... I adore wolves. One of the coolest animals ever ^_^

Wow. This is the most responses I have ever had on this forum... hehe (YEAH!)...

Ok ok... Wow. Its good to see that I don't shape up that bad against some of the pros here...

Here's mine:

I'm not that bad am I???

Malachi Maloney: Wow. I bow down to you and hope that in 6 years I will be as good as thou...

Pat: Yeah I like your stuff. I have seen you around here several times before and have always liked your art. How old are you now BTW??

Jezebel: That was done when you were 15? I gotta look out for your stuff now! Great stuff.

ArcIpello: Great. I am kinda just a bit behind you I reckon.. You have a tablet??? I am still stuck with a mouse... ugh.

Shamhead: Thems some kick ass boots!

I'm 26 (old old). Made a lot of fantasy with 18 and less, was all inked pencils with fine ink lines as shadows.

Sorry for the horrible scans, was the first thing i scanned in years ago so they suck, gotta rescan them by time...

Those are from the '92 = 17 years old
