I walked around a few computer stores yesterday and saw big displays for the Intuos2. Looking at wacoms site, it appears to be just the exact same thing as the original intuos, save for a grip pen and the dark grey color. Am I missing something here? Oh, and what do you think about the Cintiq? I'd like to try it but I don't think I'd spend the money. (if I had it.)http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index.cfm

I hate to say it, but I think the Cintiq is stupid. It's so low res that the tool palletes would fill up a good part of the useable space. Also, color just is not there on LCD monitors yet, so no hardcore professional artist would shell out the bucks for this over priced toy. I would accept one as a sweepstakes prize, but you'd never catch me using it. Nice idea with not high enough technology to back it up. Maybe useable in museums and other limited specialty exhibits/presentations, but I just can't figure the main market for these things.

That being said, if Wacom would team up with Apple and make the Powerbook displays stylus sensitive, I would probably buy one. Using a tablet with my laptop on the plane SUCKS for me, and whatever poor slob is sitting next to me. (My laptop on their pull down table so I can fit a tablet on MY table.)

...

I'm not sure what the difference between the intuos 1 & 2 is, but I know the pens are incompatible, so obviously something's new. I ordered on last week...I will possibly review it when it arrives. I (and my wrist) are really looking forward to that gel grip pen.
