I've been looking around the web for places to contribute my art for public viewing. Like Digitalart.org (which I've signed up to). Beyond Digitalart.org, I haven't found much, and what I have found has been pricey. I'm just looking for more exposure for some of my paintings, preferably outside of the "sijun circle" of people. Anybody know any good galleries?
(btw, I also know of Elfwood, but my art isn't really fantasy-related, and Elfwood is so huge, with such a high crap-to-good-stuff ratio...)
Thanks! |

Try Epilogue --they're free, give you a gallery with your own address (ie http://patduke.epilogue.net) and it keeps stats. The only downside is it has to be fantasy or science fiction related and work to be posted in your gallery must be accepted by the admins. It's a great community.

You could check out Deviantart.com
It's not the greatest, but it's a place to show off work. Noone is limiting you to any specific genres either, but it's more of a photo-manip/app-skins place than art exhibition.

I'd have to say I like digitalart.org best.
Glibster is a cool cat and you can post any type of digital art you want there. Epilogue is a realy great place, with tons of great art. But, if your art isn't mostly fantasy, sci-fi, or anime related (like me =/) you won't have much luck there.
Elfwood has fallen off, I wouldn't waste my time there.
That's my two cents.
Take it easy,

What Pat said. They're kind, gentle people and you're not buried by really really good artists that are much better than you. The stats and image file management is pretty keen. Only problems are that so much of the site is database-based [um] and it takes a while for the pages to load, and your art has to be aproved before it's posted. It keeps the place high-quality though. me: http://closetgoth.epilogue.net |
