Anybody know which free website hosting allows remote loading, where you can post pictures in forums and stuff.

This is from the Webshots terms of agreement... while some artists might not mind, many will find this to be a rather big deal:

When you become a Webshots member, you become a participant in the Webshots community. Your photographs will be viewed and made available to others in the Webshots community and we may incorporate them in directories, search results or in any other places on the Excite network.

As a condition of membership, you hereby grant Webshots and Excite a perpetual, universal, nonexclusive right to copy, display, modify, alter, transmit and distribute any materials provided by you to the Webshots community.

basically almost all "free" hosts claim the same in thier TOS. pick your poison. some may be lighter and easier to deal with, but you will have to do a search yourself and read each TOS to really find what your looking for. nothing is FREE...except dirt...well, heck...not even that somtimes.

Lets you post from there site like nothing. There site is kind of anoying, and it takes a few clicks just to get to where you can upload. No direct FTP access that I can find. BUT it lets you post images!

Yeah... I know geocities does it too, but the difference with webshots is that they put all your images into a searchable directory and make them really easy to download/set as wallpaper/send as postcard. Some artists don't want people to be browsing for pics and start downloading all their artwork. The service is specifically for spreading da image love afterall

If you speak french or have someone to translate for you that is...I managed to maneuver it with my latin knowledge. It gives 100 MB of free space, and you can link it, and it will display directly on the board.

If you can't go with the french, you can use: www.easyspace.com
Though they're you'll have to click around, they try want to sell you their webspace, but they HAVE a 25 MB free offer which allows image linking (displaying on forums)as well. However, you should maybe have some "alibi" page if you go there, they deleted my account once because all of the images were just linked, and no page there.
