Imagine this: a 3D game developer company wants to create a new kick ar$e game about a big heavy armed thug kinda guy walking around in a typical big city like Chicago and killing evil alien creatures that infested the whole planet, on his mission to find a way to save the world. He shall not like a future warrior or manga freak, more like a special unit like SAS or GSG9 or something like that. Your objective: draw a character sketch of that guy. g0g0g0!

flat- your site says graphics and content by you but you just had a sijun member make that charicature of you on the front page for you. you don't credit them anywhere though. that's poor taste. is that what the 'contest' winner can expect? because it's pretty obvious you just want to use it to make a clan model for counterstrike.

No, no, no. Get your cursor over that picture and wait a sec - and read. But you're right, I should make that more obvious. There are gonna be some major changes on my site and everybody who deserves credit will get it, I promise - so far that pic caricature pic is the only one I didn't do myself. And no, I don't want to make a model, I'm just curious how you guys realize a character study. C'mon I bet you've drawn guys like that one million times, at school, at work, or wherever, besides hot anime chicks and mutant horror zombies or whatever, everybody does every now and then (at least I think so). It's not like I'm asking for a cover pic for a Marvel Comic Book or something, just a guy that could fit in such a game. You won't need more infos on the character because his looks up to you - imagine a SEAL soldier gone mad hops or something and draw him. You know, it's funny - if I really just wanted to "steal" your work I wouldn't post here, I would go straight to comixmatrix.com (or whatever the URL was) and take it from there, because there are loads of skilled artists who have guys with every thinkable weapon and style in their art portfolios. Think about it, we're here to have fun - don't think the commercial way every damn minute, there are enough guys out there you can compete with any time any where, but here in the Sijun Forums the only thing that counts is FUN. F U N. Did I make my point clear?

You guys ain't telling me drawing ain't no fun, are you? No, most of you wouldn't be here if it wasn't, that's 4 friggin' sure.

So everybody be cool and let's get it on.

    Site: here

Details: big bad motherfucker in special unit uniform (think of SAS, GSG9 or SEALS or whatever)

additional details: likes having sex with blonde girls. that's all. It's up to you, damnit! he shall not be a super mutant hero. he shall not look like an animal. not even a cute animal.

Oh, and: shall not look like a power ranger nor any other crazy cyber shit. His whole uniform should look like something you could imagine in reality.

If you really don't have any clue of who you could draw simply imagine a heavy armed mixture of Max Payne and Duke Nukem. Heavy armed doesn't mean proton torpedo rocket launcher or double bazooka or crap, I'm talking about battle shotguns and stuff like that.

MAKE USE OF YOUR IMAGINATION, FOLKS!

here, this is my concept, and I went ahead and made a model of it too.

judging by the competition... I win by default.

I want to see the animation tests for it.

You can have the best models in the world, but w/o fluid/believable motion, you're left with nothing.

666flat: i don't think you understand that when you use the word "contest" people expect judges, prizes, a deadline, and some kind of organization. by telling people this is a contest, you create the expectation that if they draw, they might win something. so what's the prize?

if you just want to get a lot of people drawing a certain thing, why not just say so?

You are aware that the artists here don't have to participate if they don't want to, right? It's painfully obvious that noone is taking you seriously and that noone will be involved in your "contest." Why don't you just let your thread die with a little bit of dignity? No reason to keep bumping and telling people to "get it on". Try another forum perhaps.

Flat, you just keep copying what other people say, keep using wrong words, and keep saying different things (even things that goes aganist what you just said)... If you want people to draw something, why didn't you just state that from the beginning, or when you found out people didn't understand you say "woops, my bad peeps. Ok, what i meant was that it could be fun if we all..." and so on?
