Artistic Secrets to Painting Tonal Values, by Alex Kedzierski is quite good for the beginner. He really does a good job of covering things and giving good pointers. |

Does anyone have some good book recommendations for learning color theory & value, mixing color, etc? The only book I managed to find about value is "Intuitive Light:An Emotional Approach to Capturing the Illusion of Value, Form, Color, & Space" by Albert Handell & Leslie T. Handell, and I've seen a few books on color theory but was wondering if anyone has suggestions. |

there is a very good string of posts on color theory that pretty much covers most of the important areas...at least touches on them in the digital art discussion area...simply do a search for color theory and find the post titled Color Theory. there is paragraph upon paragraph of good comments and practical stuff that you can use.
