I'm not sure if you have seen the work of Bonsay Pipathsouk but I haven't and his drawings are just incredible. Take a look if you will; I certainly recommend it =)

He's very skilled at what he does. But why does he have to appear in every picture? His clothes are funny.

Dood... thats all u gotta say? His clothes are funny? .. y? whats wrong wif his clothes? Erm... doesnt his work and portraits inspire? I apologize for sounding abit perturbed, but cant u comment on his work? which is amazing by the way.
I really think how he dresses has anything to do with his art. He seems to be doing his artwork at home. He could be doing his art in his underwear for all i care hehehe. But please.. i think credit should be given where credit is due. I think why he is in every picture is possibly because its his spouse thats taking his pics. If his site is really just to showcase his work, i doubt he'd post them as is.. and he would do well to have his portraits photographed professinally. He is doing this as a hobby. He is an upholsterer by trade and he owns his own upholstery shop. And he isnt selling his art or doing illustrations for a living.

*eyeroll :rolleye:

I dont mean to overreact to your comments to what he was wearing as funny, but i also thot that commenting on his attire was tad unwarranted.

Whatever. I didn't say I don't like his drawings. But I can't say I find his artwork inspiring, because they are only portraits..

They are good, but nowhere near inspiring. But thanks for the link though. Don't get mad.

While I can't help but have total respect for life drawings, I don't find them inspiring in any way. I'm inspired by men and women that really push the envelope of creative surrealism. This is just my 2c and I'm glad you get so much enjoyment out of his work. I wonder what his background is. I know I've seen guys working in mall huts that can draw up portrait storm. Doesn't seem like it would pay very well though. Personally, I'll stick to a field where you don't have to be one of the top 5% deities to make real money doing what you do. I'm not the most competitive person and I'm not a prodigy, so it just seems like a good idea to play it safe and stick to something I know I can do well, be happy doing, and make a descent living doing it. Maybe I'm just a lazy wuss.

I thought it was very inspiring.
Drawing in pencil like that is so tedious. His work is beautiful. I have to go draw now.

At first I was amazed. Then I began to see the size of each one of his renderings. While they look very detailed (and they are), we have to remember that we are looking at these renderings at a lot smaller size than they were created in. After reducing a drawing that is virtually life-sized down to the size to display on a web page, all the little pencil lines, etc., will get blurred together. This can, in some cases, make a rendering look even better and more detailed than it really is. I would love to see a close-up of a portion of one of his drawings, such as a part of an eye, etc., in the actual size.

Other than that, he does a fantastic job of making the pencil drawings look like the people he is drawing. Great job (wish I could do pencils like that!).

yep thats true..

something to think about..

but then again you must always realise that artwork appears much more impressive on paper than on a screenn..

du know what I mean ?

He's very skilled at what he does, but what is he doing? He's copying photographs, as seen in many of the pics. I wouldn't call that inspiring. Nice to look at, but not inspiring.

His clothes don't seem that weird.

Find some of Chuck Close's paintings - very large realistic portraits, and trace the development of his paintings style to where it is today. Fascinating.

Wow, the human copy machine. maybe he could get a job at Tower records and copy album covers, that would be cool. His work reminds me of something you would see sold at a kiosk in some shopping mall or flea market.
I don't mean to sound demeaning but, what about this guys work could anyone find inspiring? besides the fact that he obviously makes money to fund this totally useless talent.
AAARRRGGHHH. sorry, this kind of stuff is a major pet peeve of mine. I become irrational at the sight of this kind of stuff. Jeez, he could of at least painted them. aaahhh rant aaahhh must...stop..before..to late.

Bye

Woops, I just realized that he is NOT a professional. Nevermind, You go boy. Draw your little heart out. IF he were a professional my comments stand, but, I take them back and now feel bad. sorry dude.
