I was just wondering what scanner most of you use. I am currently using a Umax Astra 1220 U and its good.. but sometimes colors don't come out very well.

Is it hardware or settings in software you think?

I have the Parallel port version of that scanner, the Umax Astra 1220P. I really dont like it because it takes so long to scan. Does your USB scanner go back and forth when its scanning like mine? its really loud also. I was looking at this one USB scanner at my friend's computer stores that he works at, and the thing was Asus i think, it was really slim, usb, and quit, and fast, one continuous scan, not the stop, go back, scan again, stop, etc...
it was 100 bucks too, cheap ass mofo.

i talked to someone today who said they are very happy with their HP scanner. I also heard the Epson scanners were real good..

anyone know any good color tweaks for the Umax scanner programs?
