Well, that IS a Czech page.

(it took me three tries to type that)

And Kreuze, yeah, that makes a lot more sense. It's definitly not accurate, as I said, I really don't think I'm 156, or near there for that matter.

Fat Penquin: Maybe I didn't explain my reasoning well enough. The first number in all their math problems seem arbitrarily chosen by them. I was showing that if you start with the digit they chose (1), you get the next 3 digits in their pattern by squaring the previous digit and subtracting 1.
(1 to 0 to -1 to 0)
This seemed especially likely to me given that the function for the last math question is sqrt(x+1) (where x is the previous number.)

I don't know where you got the 3, the pattern then oscillates between 0,-1
(0^2 = 0) - 1 = -1

[edit] Maybe it was the symbol ^, it's used as computer shorthand for squared, especially in programming or entering formulas in programs like Maple...

[edit] And does anyone understand their logic that 24 is b?

heh, a lazy ass friend of mine just took that test and scored a 168. In fairness he is pretty smart, and does seem to always score high on these type of tests, but strangely he seems to accomplish very little .

I had 24 right, but mostly on intuition..

I think you could say: what cannot come after the third symbol:

a and d for sure, they would break the pattern.

that leaves b and c.

since the pattern alternated from the first picture to the third picture it has to be b, if the symbol would be the same as in 1 then c.

at least thats my explanation.

I agree that this test is nonsense because then I would be a real genius (165).
crap.

Holy fuck.

Number one, Visionary is the only one who got remotely close to the truth of I.Q.

Any real official I.Q. test, as being administered by a psychologist, etc. takes a full day to complete. Anything that takes 20 minutes is a quickie, generalized pop culture test.

A real IQT (iqtest) measures more than what you know about whatever. They have actual logic games, quizes, etc.

The chances are with online iqt's is that you are just as smart as the webgeek who wrote the test, using the answers that he thought were correct.

Not to negate or refute any of your guys' intelligences. I'm positive that any of you taking the real test would score just as high.

For a side note, IQ is also measured in degrees of 15, with 100 being the average adult. A person with an IQ of 115 has 200% more reasoning power than that average adult. 130 is twice as much as the 115 and so on and so on. I'm sure you guys have all heard of the bell curve.

IQ's:

55-- Legally, profoundly retarded. Communication and autonomous movement is extremely prohibited.

70-- legally retarded. Communication is somewhat prohibited, movement is a bit uncontrolled.

100-- The average adult. Smart enough to figure out the average income tax form, dumb enough to regard quantum physicis as "nerd bullshit."

115-20-- The average Ph.d. Extremely smart, able to answer the majority of Jeopardy questions. The kids with straight A's that do their homework fall into this category.

130-- Gifted. Essentially, 98% of America does not fall into this category. Gifted children and adults have extremely apt reasoning skills, etc.

145- Second degree gifted. Smart enough to get into that geeky nerd club Mensa. By all practical purposes, a genius.

190-- Extremely gifted. Only .1% of America falls into this category. They are extremely snobbish and believe they know everything.

205 and above-- Fucking gifted. Less than 5000 people in America are this smart. They are very scary. Steven Hawkings, Einstein, Marilyn Vos Savant. Geniuses of our day. They have the ability to do everything and do it well..

In general, Iq is bullshit. It doesn't actually measure real intelligence, which is completely arbitrary. I'd worry not about iq.

Also, Iq actually changes very little from the time you are 3 til the time you are 93. It's not how much you know. It's how much you have the ability to figure out how to know. The only major Iq boosters are in the years 6-9 and throughout puberty, where synapses are formed, and logic becomes concrete, applied through one's life.

So it's not that unlikely to see a 6 year old with an Iq of 132...

As a side note, I've taken two real Iq tests in my entire life. Once, in kintergarden, where I scored a 196, and again, this year, where I scored 240 or 250-something..

I've gotten 170 or so on all the ones of taken (no psychologist day long ones unfortunately). Even if you have one of those it may not mean what the number says. I'm sure it generally gauges your intelligence, but we can't put an exact number on it. Even though I don't have a whole lot of faith in it, throwing random numbers around makes you sound smart eh? As a side not, iq is also based on your age. I think its measured intelligence/age or something.

I very much doubt that.

I doubt the numbers up there..

I am not sure that about one out of every 400 or so people is a MENSA-style genius.

And the IQ changes a LOT during youth.
As you mentioned the synapses are being formed. If a child is not 'stimulated' enough to think and play it will be not as intelligent as children that get a lot of attention. I has been proved in some studies.

I took some IQ test once online. You go through a certain number of questions before it'd start repeating itself. Basically you got a higher score the sooner you quit the test. Anyone wanna check to see if thats a possibility with the test you're all taking? I don't think I'd pass at all. I cant figure out how to open a new window in IE and try the test out for myself.

it's been a while since my last test, but i think i remember that the psychologist who took it told me that IQ test are extremely inaccurate and pointless in the first place (why she did take it? the school required it) and i am sure you can all guess why. you geniuses

no, i'm not going to tell you what i scored

i learned that lesson the hard way. don't brag about your IQ. doesnt get you anywhere but outside.
