I need to make a portfolio, consisting of 15~20 paintings including conceptual designs. I am working on the basic concept of the paintings. SO I need some input from you guys. I need some direction. Please help me with getting the right concept. I will do some sci-fi illustration about alien invasions, and will use water-based oil paints and acrylics.
So, you be the art director and give me some inspiration. Some job hunting tip is good too. Being in the military with minimal income is really humiliating! |

| If you are looking for work as concept artist, then you need to show lots of sketches, designs, illustrations for any subject. In your case, you like sci-fi, so do lots of spaceships, space stations, combat scenes, alien terrain, creatures, devices, cockpit...etc. Just browse all the big name concept artists in the market today and see what makes up their portfolio. |
