there are alot of tutorials how to draw a great picture into 5 steps.... but thats too fast for me...

who knows a very detailed tutorial... dont has to be about humans... even robots, cars or other objects just to catch the basics... i tried about 6 times but i fail everytime at drawing shadows and lightning

step 1. learn how to draw
step 2. open photoshop
step 3. draw the damn thing !
just joking, iam looking for a good tutorial myself...

drawing itself is not the problem
but my monsters always look flat... i dont get�m look 3d... hmmm i`ll won`t give up until it works :-/

Study lighting in real life. See how light affects surfaces, lit and unlit faces, highlights and specular, shadow casting, etc etc etc. If you have 3d software handy, you can learn well from rendering differently shaped objects and playing with lights.

edit: You must UNDERSTAND how lighting works, and not just place light and shade randomly.
