i'm just curious, in what order should i draw a picture (digital)? background then foreground? or vice versa? any comments would be greatly appreciated |

Background to foreground is traditional. Saves me a lot of work and produces better results too.

i'm no expert, but i would think it depends on what kind of picture you're going for... by that i mean that if the background is going to be an important part of the composition, and also take up a lot of the canvas, then do the background first... otherwise, do the foreground first... *shrug*
just an opinion...

I wouldn't say there's really an order to anything, particularly in art. Just go with what you feel's right for the job.

My personal advice is to not look at it as background/foreground, as if it's two seperate things.
Instead, try and look at your entire painting/drawing as a scene, where everything needs to fit together. |
