Go, get another alias. You had a bad start when you posted that one angel pic in almost every thread. Don't make such an uproar here. Get a new ID and leave stupid comments at a minimum till they have forgotten you. No need to call for a moderator.
people, please move on |

stneil777- I feel sorry for you. I think that, if you are a real person, there may have just been a massive misunderstanding here (mostly on your part, don't take that as an insult). You have been victimized to a certain extent. But the anger people point in your direction is often well-founded. They feel your methods of work, sometimes suspicious pieces, and self-serving self-aggrandizing attitude is a direct affront on something they hold very dear (namely, digital art and this web forum). You must understand that a lot of the fuel for their insults comes from your naturally frustrated responses to their attacks. Your own holier-than-thou attitude and deprecating remarks only makes them want to bash you more. I think the problem here is pride; you probably feel that leaving or changing your name or style will result in a loss of dignity. Well, perhaps it's time to bite the bullet. Many people here will never react with anything other than hostility to a thread by "stneil777," and you obviously don't want that to continue.
My main piece of advice would be to stop trying to sell your own services in repeated posts. You've disregarded the advice I and others have tried to give you before, so I don't really know what else to tell you; I just thought I'd try to get to the bottom of this for everyone in a fair, unbiased way. I try not to judge people; I usually make an ass of myself when I do. I hope that Sumaleth or Enayla can offer you more concrete advice.
One more thought to stneil and everyone else: Insulting someone or putting them down is usually a reflection of your own sense of inadequacy... think about it. |

Buddy, you rip off people's art and call it your own. You attack people constantly. You are rude, infantile, and utterly retarded. Did you expect for all of us to fall madly in love with a rude, infantile, utter retard? ANH-ANH! :P |

I think Stneil is pretty clever. He has somehow managed to brainwash people into replying to his posts simply by inserting a few negative commments. Impressive if you ask me. |

stneil777 :
&*&%#&%!@# (cartoon style cursing hehe), stop
complaining, do not blame other people.
Yes, YOU are the problem.
It's kinda silly and pathetic that you do not
seem to understand your problem -> IGNORANCE
and plain STUPIDITY, after 369693 messages
and replies posted on this forum.
Do not bullshit people with all sorts of
religious nonsense, made up stories or
'ripped' pictures. This is not kindergarden,
so don't expect people to smile whole day!
You don't have to feel sorry for yourself or
blame the whole planet for your lack of
working braincells, cuz it will not help you.
Again, many people here have given you a
'warning' about the stuff you do/did, it
might be a good idea to really read those
replies and comments.

I think sacrelicious summed up most of my feelings about this. However, I will add in that I often find your so called "15 year olds" to be more mature then some of the adults. Most of us (including this 15 year old) are here to improve our art and view the differing styles, techniques and expressions from other's art. That is what has made this fourm great. Please, keep in that style, and if you want to improve your art, get a new screenname and become a respected member of our community.

stneil777- I have never replied to any of your threads before, because it just seemed pointless. Now, I have just one piece of advice for you:
Observe the behavior of members that DON'T get flamed, and appears to be well-liked by the forum. Compare their behavior to your own. See the difference? Learn from that.
I too, highly suggest you drop your current name, start fresh, and learn from your past mistakes. Also, if you want people to take you seriously, it does help to use a spell checker. People tend to notice these things, and they DO judge others that way. There are many members in the forum that are from other countries, and most of them try very hard to convey themselves in proper English. It'll show that you at least make an effort to communicate in a dignified, respectable manner. |

This is something to do with anonomity of the web, if you were stood in front of these people it would not happen. I really feel you have to be VERY careful in what you say in forums.

I somewhat disagree with that. Anonmity is very influencial on web behaviour, but there are people who would act the same towards him in real life. This is more about his defense than other's offense. If you look above you see some infamitory posts, and some suggestive posts. Stneil (or however you spell it) has blatantly disregarded suggestions and whatnot, and has continued his behavior, which explains the inflamitory posts. If I saw someone ask for advice and then get mad at me if I'm harsh about my advice, or if I thought they were claiming someone else's art as their own I would STILL get mad at them. I think it is the adverse, where if we met him in real life, HE would act differently, and in a more appropriate manner. But I'm very egotistical in real life, so I might be meaner ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Right on Sacrelicious.
I beleive people have come to think that it's ok to flame stneil in his threads, and I don't think that's very cool. Sure, I've done my share of flaming him in the past, but I've moved on... I know I can never understand him and that he will never understand me, so I just stay away.
Stneil reminds me of a cousin of mine, who I find 'special'. He has his own sense of logic and way of thinking that just blows my mind at times, where I think that some of these thoughts and reasonings are insanely stupid and retarded, where he will thief and rip off people (including myself) and lie about it and never, ever learn the values or morales behind it all. He's 40 years old now, and he hasn't learned, and will never learn. His mind just functions like that. I've given up trying to knock some sense into him.
You can't reason with some people. They are never wrong. They never see their faults. They always blame others. They are always the victims. And they never will learn. |

I really wish there was an easy answer. Unfortunately there are two groups at work here that aren't easily controlled;
. You keep posting stuff (pictures and/or words) that bait other forum members.
. Other forum members who don't seem to have any control over what they post themselves.
Both aspects are the problem here. Stneil keeps posting stuff that is ONLY EVER going to cause problems, and other forum members are posting crap purely in an attempt to be funny. It's all getting really old.
Everyone asks me why we don't just ban stneil. People ask that of a lot of members (you'd be surprised) and the policy at this time is to not ban people if it can be helped. And I have to believe that stneil is *trying* to be a real member of the forum, he just needs to be a bit smarter in his use of the forums.
But if banning does end up being necessary, don't necessarily think stneil will be the only one banned. There's a big list of members who perpetually post rubbish who could just as easily be banned to remove the problem. Need only tally the regular posters in stneil threads to get an idea.
I suggest that if you're keen to keep your account, you think VERY carefully about what you're posting.
My suggestion to stneil would be to leave the forum for a while. Or just lurk, but not post. Practice hard for the next 6+ months and really improve your style, then perhaps come back as another name. At this time, however, this is not official Forum policy, it's just a suggestion from me.
This whole thing came about because of that "WAR" thing you did ~3 months back, and the fact that the aftermath is still being felt is a good indication that you did something unacceptable. I'd suggest having a good think about that.
Any further questions can be emailed to me, or here if you'd prefer.

SO, i can't spell. I ask them not to post in my tread if all they are trying to do is shut my tread down. They don't listen. I am the one who has to pay for it. And if the art happens to be a good piece i did, they claim i did not do it.
What do i do?
Why is nothing done to those that ruin my threads.
I just come here to share my stuff get idea's and in return i get a bunch of 15 year olds talking trash and then you close my threads because of them?
I wish there was something you could do let me know if there is thank you? |

I was wondering if anyone else felt the way I did. Now I know. I also feel that some of Stneil's behavior in the past has been inappropriate but the simple fact is that the only one's who are keeping his posts on the top constantly are the people who are flaming him. I do realize that I am also contributing to that at this moment but this thread has a chance of being somewhat constructive.
So I guess what I'm saying (albeit in a poor manner) is this, 'hear hear Sumaleth, good post' |

This forum is becoming an annoying place for me to come to. I find that good art posts receive less and less attention while more idiots keeping bumping up the flame wars. I tried responding to his threads for a while to help him with his artwork, but he never heeded anyone's advice and everyone else that posted would just keep flaming anyway. It became more than pointless. I normally wouldn't be responding now, except I wanted to say that I think both parties are at fault. BUT - it's the forum members that are aggravating me, far more than stneil has.

Just a thought...this goes back to the whole stneil conspiracy theory. Have any of the moderators thought about checking stneil's IP against that of other forum members? Everytime he posts something it just seems like it's so stupid and childish it can't be for real. Maybe this is just someone who has WAY too much time on their hands? Who knows.
Maybe this all has to do with the fact I was watching a show about JFK this morning on TV and started thinking about conspiracys ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

You don't know me, I'm sure. And I'm sure that you won't be a very big fan of me either after you here what I have to say.
You know what? I think everyone's right to tell you to get a fresh start. But if you continue to consistently post plagiarized material and try to sell your services, you'll just be found out again. And if you post threads like this one, begging for the mods to take action, we'll definitely know who you really are, new name and all. You should do what Sumaleth said. Learn what things are appropriate for this forum before posting them. Post artwork with the expectations for negative criticism. I know that if everyone just said that I was great, it would be untrue. I tend to be much more appreciative to those who think I should improve more than those who just say that they like it. Like a lot of us here, I could use some honest criticism (me more than others I'm sure), no matter how brutally honest it is. DO NOT RESPOND TO NEGATIVE CRITS WITH BABYISH ARGUING AND WHINING!!!!!!!! VERY FEW PEOPLE HERE RESPOND WITH HOSTILITY UNLESS THEY ARE PROVOKED BY LEGITIMATE OFFENSES!!! in other words, DEAL WITH IT!!!!!
By the way, Im a Christian, and I think people are way out of line to attack your religion. But instead of the Holier-than-thou attitude, how about displaying some humility.
As for "If the art is good, they claim I did not do it", you have to admit, there are a lot of noticeable...inconsistencies. That's all I have to say. |

Best advice I've heard so far is from Sumaleth. Take some time off and practice. Take a life drawing class and practice on online tutorials.
Posts - DO NOT POST EVERY LAST PIECE YOU CREATE. I render about 2-3 images a day and sometimes as much as 8-10 sketches. But I post about once a week or two. I post what I am very proud of and what I need help on.
Crits - Don't be like a hemophiliac in a rugby match. Unless you are willing to take a hit, don't play. God knows I've posted stuff that I really wanted that slap on the back "Good Job" response and didn't get it. But I thrive on the crits. Most of the time they tell you what you can't or are unwilling to see. You can be so proud of a piece you did of a hot girl that you didn't notice you gave her 3 eyes and a club foot. But I guarantee people in this forum will let you know they saw it. Chalk it up to experience and try not to make that mistake again.
Flames - Don't respond.
Religion - There are a lot of people from many cultures in this forum. DO NOT FORCE YOUR BELIEFS ON PEOPLE. I would be more offended by someone that tells me the personal beliefs I have been raised my whole life by are wrong than the guy that posts a pic of my sister playing strip poker with Beelzebub. The golden rule here is don't talk about religion or politics. Save those discussions for Presidential campaigns and Jerry Springer.
Etiquette - Don't whine to the playground monitor.
This is a great place for pro's to keep up on cutting edge work of their counter parts and for amateurs to see how they stack up to the pro's and get advice. Listen to the people that are giving constructive advice. If most of the people that respond say you suck, you may want to reconcider your next post. |

Response to post by kohse:

I don't see any guns being held to anyone's head. Beliefs cannot be 'forced' but perhaps, may be innapropriate for this forum. However, STNeil's signature is inflammatory to atheists like myself. It takes a good amount of restraint for me not to respond to this obvious attempt to make a religious point..in an art forum, no less.
>I would be more offended by someone that tells me the personal beliefs I have been raised my whole life by are wrong than the guy that posts a pic of my sister playing strip poker with Beelzebub. What, you'd rather be familiar with a belief than correct? I take it that the veracity of a belief is not as important as how long you've believed it? You have to think outside of your own bias, otherwise I don't see how you can possibly learn new things. This holds true for more things than religion.
In fact, this seems to be much of STNeil's problem.
