On the older serial wacom I always had a piece of layout or marker paper taped over the plastic. Much thinner and smoother than standard bond paper, but still enough to "grab" better than plastic.
Intuos surface is better, I don't need the paper...

not many people know this,or at least i dont think they do, but if you worried about your pen tip wearing to fast, if you pull your pen apart, and look inside the eraser part, you'll find something that looks like a magnet with a coil around it... if you look in the center of the magnet you can see that theres another pen tip there, so just take that one and replace it with then one thats in the tip right now... ill post a picture so you can see what i mean...

I dont really recommend taking you pen apart, but yeah its a pretty cool device.. and dont come whining to me saying that my pen is broken and i want you to pay for it, because ive given you fair warning! oh other than that, like that guy said, just tape a piece of paper on the surface and you should be good, and it shouldnt wear that fast...

Yo ArMaDoN!
i strongly advice against IEatLitleBabies's
trick of taking the wacom pen apart.
in most new models the eraser that's
located in the top of the pen would most
prolly be damaged and that might render the
whole pen useless. when you buy the tablet
you get a few spare pen tips and when they
have worn out you can allways get new
tips from wacom or from where you bought
the tablet. just a lil advise.

hey. do you guys find that the wacom
1.) tablet's surface is too smooth... how do you guys sketch on the tablet... i feel my had sliding to easily over the tablet... tell me

2.)another thing is... what is the best position to be seated too draw on the graphics tablet i mean i usually sit on my bed and draw but the tablet calbe isn't that long. hehehe.

How do you take apart an intuos pen, I've looked at it, but it doesn't seem to want to come apart and I don't want to break it. My board came with extra nibs and so I want to know how to change them when the time comes.
If anyone knows, could they please kindly inform me.

if its anything like that graphire pen, then all you have to do is pull the nib out with tweezers or something... try that and see if it works...
oh yeah, the only reason i took a pen apart was because i had an extra one... i lost mine and i
just happen to acquire a new one for free and if you notice, that graphire pen is blue, but my tablet is slate.. go figure, maybe compusa shouldnt leave out demo tablets with the pens not attached.. who knows!
