If I am lucky 1-2 hour, but I work like 5 hours on graphic for my company, which sucks as they would like to have it all black and white and nothing but text. (They are a bit old fashioned.)

I spend plenty of time looking at art but not enough time making my own. Although lately I've been getting better about actually creating. It's upsetting because I know I could be a much, much better artist now if I had practiced more in my spare time over the last few years. I've gone through periods where I haven't drawn a single thing for months and months. Fortunately I learn fast and I'm practicing more now

I finished my military service 3 weeks ago and now Im sitting at home and trying to learn as much as possible to become good enough to make a living out of my "hobby".
My problem is similar to Jezebels, the years before my military service, I was in technical college and had as good as no time to draw, what was the reason for me to quit school.
Now I have enough time to practise as much I want per day. Hope I will soon be as good as some other artists on this board.

'sigh' same here; too much looking at others people art and not doing it myself. I'm also trying to do more; trying to use my stubborn streak for something useful for once and actually finish something... my biggest problem overall is starting in the first place. Wierd, I totally enjoy doing it but to sit down and start I find difficult. Lately I noticed that when I start doing something without any preperation or thought, just sit and do it, it goes much better... guess overthinking kills me; that and my impossible expectations of myself. Sometimes I forget how much fun this is suppose to be...

Lessee.. I'm in independent study in an art class at school and work on my own stuff for 1.5 hours, then I work on graphic design and some 3D stuff at work for 4 hours on average. At home, it's about 1 hour sketching, and if I want to finish something, that's about 5 hours. I browse these forums for about 2 hours, sometimes while working on art.

..then I try to wake up the next morning

Hm...depends on the day, really. Usually 7-10 hours, some sketching, some painting, some useless farting about comparing one picture to another and trying to figure out what went wrong with each.

Occasionally, I am sulky, however, and draw for only 2-3 hours. Shame on me. But when I'm not actually drawing, I tend to be looking at art. If I don't, I get all antsy. Neeeed...mooore...arrrrt.... You know.

I'm logging in about 8-9 hours a day M-F for work. The weekends vary depending on whats happening. I wish I had more time to practice playing on my banjo though.

I don't do art at work... but I'll put in about 6 hours a week including weekends, which isn't much at all. Mostly doodling stuff in photoshop.

I go through weird moods with my art. It all really depends on how I feel.
But no matter what I am *always* sketching. Even if it's in my school books or whatever, I have very itchy fingers and can't keep away.
Colouring, digital painting and doing something finished is a different thing entirely. Sometimes I wont finish anything for months. Other times I'll go through an intense week or two where I'll do about 3 hours per day no including all the doodling.

I think I spent 12 hours on art a day but about 6 hours producing it. For the other half, I think about what I want to do ..and end up doing something a bit different..which is always exciting...but I'm still trying to focus on things that would be useful to me...such as not sitting down and staring at the white washed wall....and getting crazy when someone else does a better job than I do....envy makes me slow...

but being in school for more than 12 hours help me to get more things done than working on a painting in my bedroom

When I was a kid and through high school I'd probably spend maybe 5 hours a week on art. From graduation to about age 26 I'd spend about 10 hours a year doing art. This year I've been shooting for about 2 hours a day. Recently I've been able to maintain that to some degree.

I hope to continue or increase that pace, but life usually has different plans.

about 4 to 5 hours of concentrating on art and about 3 hours total of doodling on top of that. But during both periods I always get distracted. I can't take any more than that, I become unpatient and have to go listen to music loudly and do something. But then again I'm weird that way.

does "design" count? i spent 9-10 hours a day on design projects for a year while sketching very little. but when i started drawing again i found that the two are more closely related than i had once thought. and some of the skills are interchangeable and complimentary. now-a-days, combining design and drawing, about 8 hours a day. blah blah blah

Every moment I have to spare. This varies wildly from day to day. I do a lot of art work at my two jobs, and then even more at home. Sometimes, I end up having sat in front of the computer drawing for sixteen hours... sometimes even more (I remember a ghastly episode one weekend - when I got up at nine in the morning and worked on a few pictures till nine next morning. I was completely exhausted for days and couldn't draw anything useful for quite a while).

I'd like to say that for as long as I'm not doing anything else that's constructive and useful (cleaning the apartment, hanging out with my friends, taking care of my cat, etcetera), I'm working on art. Whether it's mulling over ideas, writing them down, roleplaying, drawing, or just doodling, depends on my mood... but it's still "art" (though I hate to define it like art).

Anyway... with this I mean: I probably work too much with it. I'll have bored myself within a few years. But then again, I'm having loads of fun right now =)

8 Hours work-art, after that as much as I can (which is after 6 pm), but i'm kinda lazy and simple personality so I usually spend hours on playing games and browsing, etc. Lately, though, i've been trying to kick my ass more, which has been QUITE succesful.

M-F at least 8 to 10 hours a day. Weekends usually reserved for other creative work(music, writing, photography..etc). At work I do concept art, paint textures, and when I take breaks, I sketch in my sketchbook. On wednesdays I do 2 hours of figure drawing with life models. I rarely do formal paintings for myself anymore, since I never have time to do my other creative work, so I try to do those whenever I'm not at work.
