Best size for full window 800x600? Doh! It's 800x600! Hehe....
Although that's big. DPI should be 72, never higher. Save in JPEG at a 4 or 5 quality to have a smaller file.

actually you arent gonna want to use 800x600 because there is room taken up by the browser (and it varies by browser, version, and OS). anyhow, i believe there is a table somewhere on webmonkey.com find it by searching for windows sizes maybe? i often use 92 dpi because you can tell the difference, but for less important things, use 72. what is the normal dpi of a computer screen? id like to know this incase for some reason i want a high resolution piece but dont wanna make it higher than the screen can see it! lol. also-- you say you dont want a scroll bar but its always gonna be there. it just wont scroll. if you dont wanna see it, go to wsabstract.com and on the bottom there is a link about scrollbar colors. set your scrollbar colors all to white and it will be invisible. (only works on IE later versions)

hope i helped
