I see guys like Doug Chiang (starwars) and other artists using all types of color markers to do their coloring. Does anyone know of some professional markers os I can build some skills with these things or should I go buy a 24 pack of crayolas,=)?? Any help would be great

Most industrial designer stick to Prismas or Trias....both of which are good. Trias can even be refilled! There's a wide range of colors to choose from and can be found in most art supply stores.

I haven't seen too many people use Copics (sp?)....but its got a cool design..

Doug uses Prismacolor markers, as did the rest of the E1 Art Department, same for E2... recently got a couple to switch over to Trias for their own work as they are far less toxic and do save you money in the refill area. However, anyone used to the color output of Prismacolors, especially in the grays, will be somewhat disappointed with the Trias. If you're working in a small confined space and don't have much ventilation, avoid the Prismacolors.

If you are interested in buying trias or prismacolor markers over the internet, which sites are best for that?
I live in Europe...

copic markers. quiet expensive but worth the buy. pretty much every one in the industry uses them or at least has used them at some point.

ask your local suplier or order here:

WOO WOO WOO PRISMAS!

Copics are alright, but they don't bleed quite like Prismacolors, and Trias just don't get the depth of them. However, the fine tip on my prismas are so dry that I basically can't use them.
