I've been watching the news and I guess an Earthquake just hit Seattle, well since there's such a large number of folks from Washington here I thought the news would be circulating around here. Anyone feel it?

Yes, I was doing Turbo Tax at the time, and chatting with a guy from Indonesia I know. He was really amazed and was asking all kinds of questions.

This one was strange-no sound to go with it....really creeps you out.

Yep! I was there.. Yikes... That was messed up. I was just about to leave for lunch. I work in Pioneer Square Area, in a building that was build on 1805 or so and that sucker moved for about 30 seconds, Loud thrashing sounds as our sixth floor jumped up and down as the whole builing swayed from east to west. The building is shaped like a letter (U), My office window is on the inside part of the U and windows were breaking and falling down to the coffee shop. We left that old building searching for food, as we walk down the streets you could see some damage to the buildings, windows were broken and the walls and tiles were cracked. Parts of the streets were closed because of rubble. They place red tape around bulding that lost alot of brick.

I waited for my car pool buddy to get back to Everett, he was stuck in traffic for about 2 hours. I was starting to wounder about my ride home. Traffic was really screwed. He had some problems with some road closures.

I never want to be in that building again when that happens.

We lost 2, 17" monitors, they fell right on there face. A few shelves fell over making a mess.

Well that my story and I'm sticking to it. :-)

I hope everyone is ok now that it is all over, I hope there is no more where that came from.

Later Guys'

Man, are you guys all OK? We get quakes a lot in San Francisco, so I know very well how it feels to be jolted by it.

Let's hope there won't be aftershocks.

*crosses fingers*

ok? yep, at least what i know of. there were 4 people in critical condition, but they're doing alright. Man.. a bunch of people called today, relatives and all, from Argentina, California too (yea, San Mateo) asking if we were alright. I wish they called if there wasn't an earthquake..

Heard it was pretty bad in pioneer square, and brick was falling all over the place, on stuff too. Nasty.

That's crazy, hope that there weren't many people hurt... or computers for that matter.

Never experienced one, but if one happened here not much would happen anyway. A few tipped over cows at the most.

tipping HA HA

What a Rush it was!

Being in an old building is not where I want to be. I had visions of the floor colapsing. It was making a lot of noise.

Scary

Ah. Bill Gate's conference sure turned into a joke. The whole thing with the swaying chandlier lights.
We could feel the quake here too! Except there's no damage whatsoever that I've heard of on news or from friends.
Do you guys think the 'big one' as they keep saying it would come some time soon in the future?

phew. makes me glad that my country is resting on kilometer thick plate of chalk, which absorbs almost all shocks. I have never experienced an eathquake and hopefully I never will (knocks on wood)...
