I'm sorry, I must sound pretty stupid. I've always just worked with static images, but now I wanted to start making animations. I started to try to teach myself how to use Flash, and I'd also like to make animated GIFs....but..umm. What program do I use for that?
[edit] man, I should really check my typing for typos before I post. The title should read "how" not "hoe"

A while back, I wanted to make some animated GIFs so I did a search for some free programs that compile them...mostly simple 2D programs used primarily for creating GIFs. A ton of sites came up, I picked one, used it to make some animated navigation buttons for my old webpage, and then forgot I ever had the program. I'm sure there are others here that may have specific programs in mind...I can't even remember the name of the program I used (don't have it anymore). Hope that helps any.
