I am in the middle of a major workover of my site. I have been getting numerous requests for very basic tutorials on painting digital paintings. There are a couple of new ones up now. They are at www.seegmiller-art.com. Have a look if you are interested and if you have a suggestion on something that you would like to see, let me know.

Hey Don, these look great! I'm having a hard time finding my groove painting with the tablet, and your tutorials are helping me grasp the basics that I still can't get right (I don't have much experience with traditional painting). Just one note, in the third paragraph of the apple tutorial you have "si" instead of "is." You probably don't really care about stuff like that, but I thought I'd let you know. Thanks for your time and effort, I'm sure a lot of guys and gals here appreciate it.

Oh yeah, and I had a question- do you know how to set brushes to blend, not to lay down color, in Painter Classic? That program is confusing the hell out of me.

Thanks for the heads up on the spelling. Don't want to appear as if I'm from the south... I will install a copy of painter classic and see if I can find out how to set the brushes.

Nice stuff Don! Hmm, I was just thinking that since you're working on the site and all, that maybe you could make the text a little darker and easier to read, as it stands, the text is perhaps just a little too close in value to the background, making turotials and such not as pleasant as they perhaps should be. Your call. =)

cheers,
frost

[edit] "turotials"? (oh dear...=)

Is it just me or is the site down at the moment? - I haven't been able to get onto it for days now.

Can someone confirm or deny this...

Thanks

I like the edge tutorial, but it would be nice if you could throw in some pics for examples. I would like to see more tutorials of that nature.

Think you could do anything with moods? I personally would like to see tutorials more to the likings of lighting and color selection. Different settings effecting color.. ie sunrise, sunset, night time, etc. I could be asking the wrong guy.

Nice tutorials there. If you add a "%20" to the name of your HTML files, instead of spaces, then Netscape will work I think. Instead of 'advanced tutorials.html' make it 'advanced%20tutorials.html'.

Any web people that can back me up/shoot me down on this?

Thanks for the suggestion. That is actually what I am doing as well as changing the color of the text. It just takes me a little while...Lazy I guess,

Thank again for all the suggestions.

I had been waiting on the tuts for a while and they are VERY cool! Thanks for posting those Seeg! Been a fan since seeing the stuff in Spectrum 7.

As a matter of fact I was SO inspired I had to whip something out just to give it a try. My feeble first attempt at Painter Classic is posted here.

nice stuff seeg...thanks for sharing. It's always fun and full off learning to see how different artists work, and it seems like you have found your own good and reliable way to work.

Great stuff!

You have a real talent (besides art) for relaying how you work and the process that goes into it.

Keep up the marvelous work and I look forward to the upcoming updates and info on your site.

I have learned a lot from your stuff - Way to go

The site is great. I think that maybe the text and whatever goes over the background needs to stand out just a touch more, atm it looks a little fuzzy because of the low-contrast. Anyone else agree? or is it just my monitor..
