Well, this may come as a surprise since I've been preaching 'oh's' and 'ahh's' about Painter lately. I just haven't gotten very deep into the program yet. For some reason I just can't figure out how to make my own set of customized brushes, that load whenever Painter starts. What I'm looking for is someone to explain how to make, lets say, a custumized tools brush/pallete/menu thing like the one Shane Caudle did with his marker tools setup. Please help..
,Boom

And before any one asks - No, I don't have the manuals. I got my version via. ebay and that was cd's only. 8/

there is chance that the documentation is on the disc or in the root folder. i recently picked up painter off Ebay also. and it said online docs. it was a gift for a friend so i don't know the details.

anywho, making custom brushes is as simple as appending appending an existing set and only slighlty more complicaated to make your own set. it basically involves making a square selection to designate your brush icon and using the create new brush command. as far as locking your set to always be active, you press and hold the desire brush group icon until a green(?) dot appeears under the icon.

these instructions may be slightly off but it'll put in the right place. i've done it several times myself.

Well first off what version are you using.
Painter 6 has a PDF manual that installs when you load the program.
Tell us what version of the software first

ewiser - hmmm. guess the title says it all, but I'll be happy to say what version again - Painter 6.0. I have read the pdf manual, but for some reason they do not describe very well how to do customizable-tool-bar-menus...

Well boom its really quite easy in the PDF manual its in the painter workspace section page 42
The first step is creating the brush variants
With your brush variant showing in the Brush
palette Just click on it and drag it out of the palette. When you release Painter creates the custom palette for you containing the brush that you dragged off the Brush palette.

To add other brushes. Click on the bottom right hand corner and make more room.
Load the next brush variant in the Brush palette then repeat the first step.
You can arrange the icons in any way that you wish.

Using custom palette's lets you work with just the tools you need for a project.

I hope this helps.
