Well this ought to make updating the FAQ rather easy. What would be good (and this or something like it might have been said already) is if the threads and all the participants' images were stored locally, preserving them intact |

Agreed. If people like Fred will help by providing the missing images, and if someone will help me(time limitations here), I'll be happy to host reformatted HTML versions of these threads. Sound good? Any volunteers?

Yeah, sorry, I've been busy with work(and Loomis ). Anywho, we need to decide on a format. For instance, will we remove useless comments and compress the threads down to a pseudo-tutorial format? If so, will we quote, or just paraphrase the individuals who posted useful tips? If we summarize in one place, and then have the full text below that, it might be good.

I think doing some editing would definitely be in order, though probably not much beyond chopping out unimportant comments. A summary paragraph of the thread would probably be a good idea too. Otherwise, I would say leave the text alone, as long as it applies to the discussion.
I'll edit and re-post one of the smaller threads on my own server, as a sort of a style-guide. Then we can all decide if we like the format. I don't have nearly enough time to do them all, but this'll be a good start, I think. |

Hmmm, do we really need all the Oooh Aaah this helps me alot - comments?
I think we should remove pretty much all posts that doesn't have something constructive in them like: That's great, but I normally do it like this...
I mean, we know these threads are good, that's why they're here in the first place...
My thought would be to keep it like:
First post - Unedited
- Comment by *nick*
I usually do it like this blah.
and just remove all the ooh aah and have the actual learning parts only... just my thought =)

Has this idea died or are we doing something with it soon? If we just decide on a format I can start working on it right away... (won't have a thing to do at work this week)

I have space on hippytrippy, so I'll put it up there.
I'll edit all the threads and put it all up there during this week (shouldn't be a problem seeing how fantastically little work I have)

OK Strata - I really don't have time, but I think we can do without the oos and aahhss - just don't go overboard with the cuts. I don't have time to work on it right now, but if you'd like to, go for it. If you need a server to host it, mine is available(same place as the Loomis Project).

Wow, if Fred Flick Stone and Samdragon are willing to relink those missing images, I'm sure that would be a fantastic resource. Personally, I'd love to learn more about composition and Fred's tutorials haven't steered me wrong yet.
