Ok, let's hope this time, this thread wont turn into a battle field. . ..
New topic: What are your three wishes?
Of course, you can't ask for unlimited wishes, or be God. Other than that, go wild.
Mine:
1)Ability to alter anything living, or dead, down to the molecular level(immortality, cure diseases, reconstruct anything, change physical attributes..etc).
2)ask any question and get the answer(either told to me in a voice, or shown in a visual demonstration, or incoporated into my knowledge base, even abstract concepts).
3)travel in time.

Why would you like to travel in time?
If you go to the past, you could change the present and enter a paradox.
If you go to the future, the present would be boring and uninteresting.
Live everyday in the present. Dreaming of the future or the past isn't useful. |

*sigh* Ok, let's just say travel in time to "observe only," or always with the option to "undo changes."
I want to see the past because there are many unanswered questions and sights to behold. For example, I want to see the civilization of Atlantis!
The future--maybe I'm just too curious for my own good.

Interesting. I always wanted to go back in time and experience the ancient cultures: Romans, Egyptians etc.
As for the future, I wouldn't mind getting next weeks Lottery results. That would make the present a little less boring! |

Unrealistic fantasy list:
1. Conditional immortality. i.e. I would not die of old age (aging should end at ~20-25yrs.), nor of physical injury. But the condition would be that if I lose my interest to live, I would be able to die out of my own will.
2. Unlimited wealth.
3. Little to no publicity even in spite of #1 and #2 .
"Realistic" modest list:
1. Happiness.
2. Someone to share #1 with.
3. End of all misery in the world. |

1. I want to stop aging today, and live forever.
2. I want to be able to 'read' people--not read their minds--just have some bloody clue what they're thinking.
3. I want to be able to stay awake as long as I like.

Hm, if I had to list more realistic wishes, they would have to be:
1)find my soulmate.
2)achieving a high level of expertise/success/enlightenment in my creative endeavors.
3)Be very healthy.

PandaX52, it's not a fear of death, it's a love of life. Distinct difference.
I'm having way too much of a good time here to leave. Besides, I wanna visit other planets and do other cool stuff that is not possibly now. I could have wished to be able to travel in time, but that would have been different... |

I would like to have more of those special moments, when you feel you are looking the world as it really is, when time goes more slow and your perception changes. |

1) Be able to break dance and have one of those fly Adidas jumpsuits.
2) Be able to stop time like that chick in Out of This World
3) And be able to avoid hangovers by sheer will power.

So far everyone has overlooked one of the best wishes... the power of suggestion over other people. Like Obi-wan in Episode 4 "these are not the droids you're looking for". You could literaly do anything you wanted, I am the president of the united states, you've never seen me before, jump in front of that car, give me your money, stop using drugs, start using drugs the possibilities are endless. I'd probably throw in that conditional invulnerability in case someone got wise to me and tried to have me killed. Then you hang on to that last one for an emergency.

well, what you said makes sense...in a way we were kind of saying the same thing, but from completly opposite angles...enjoying existance by "loving life" and not "fearing death"?
bad=fearing death
good=loving life
...they kind of cancel eachother out...strange...
Don't mind me, I think I'm going insane!

the_monkey: Why the hell would you want the powers of Spider-man once you have the powers of Super-man? What's the point? He can do anything Spidey can except the Spidey Sense, but who needs that when you're practically invulnerable. Oh and if you say, "what about walking on walls", my reply is just fly next to the wall an pretend your walking on it
Don't get me wrong, Spidey's cool but what's the point?

Far-fetched:
1. To fly. K, it's stupid i know, but I've had so many dreams I could..
2. Make some of my characters come to life. K, it's stupid i know..
3. Make the perfect pair of neato sneakers.
Realistic:
1. Be less complicated, less serious
2. (Yea Luna) Find my soulmate
3. Make beautiful art/music. Means getting a job with this too. Create stuff that affects people.

Here's the reason I want to live forever: A few years ago, I made a list of all the things I wanted to do before I croaked. To actually do all that stuff, I would have to live just over 1000 years. Now, an awful lot tends to change over the course of a millennium, which would mean that I'd find MORE things I'd fancy doing. Which, in turn, would mean living longer. I can't foresee ever running out of things to do, even if I was the only human being left in the universe, so I'm afraid I'm just going to have to live forever.

Ditto.
There are TOO many things to do, and never enough time to do them.
To become a great composer.
To write the great american novel
To learn lots of languages
To make a great film
To become a great photographer
To become a master painter
To find your soulmate
To become truely enlightened
To see where our civilization will take us
TOO many things. Too many dreams.

Crap Luna you said three WISHIS! Now I see a list I will abide to the rules however.
Ill stick with the fantasy wishes and then the realistic wishes.
Fantasy:
1. I liked the idea of takeing our super heros and adopting their powers without any of their weaknesses. So in that case Id take Spawn. I mean come on, this guy can do ANYTHING. He could turn himself into a virus and own Superman. Jeeez the guy was a Green Beret or something like that before he died. So Ill take that guy for my superhero powers. Note: that scarring on the face - yeah scratch that Ill keep my face thanks.
2. Flying I have to agree with Nova on this. Ive had dreams of myself flying since I was a kid. Just like superman. Since spawn does not really fly Ill have to take this option. In fact the truth is if I did not plan on being an artist I was already scheduling myself up for the air force. Go figure.
3. I think the third should always be saved for what you forgot.
Realistic:
1. Definitely all about making a positive impact to our world in whatever I do. Thats whether Im being a good role model or through my work.
2. Just like the rest of us romantics on these forums find my soul mate
3. To never die. In this essence I mean to be remembered forever. Honestly, Id never want to live forever. One life is enough. We would all go COMPLETELY mad if we were to live to the end of time. I think if I were to die with my # 1 & 2 wish then I would want my life to be remembered afterwards.
So now that Ive written up a page or two Im going to take a short bow and go to bed.
(takes a bow)

2 and 3.. save those for when i need them ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Visionary: You'd be surprised how few romantics there actually are at this forum. Check out this thread and you'll see what I mean. . ..
http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001139.html
Nova: Nonononononono. Your wishes are not stupid. Heck, I used to dream about flying all the time(I havn't for years now). In my dreams, I fly in the way I swim, so basically I'm swimming in the air. Now, THAT is stupid.
el tigre: aha! no unlimited wishes. Read the first post again.
Hmmm. Speaking of soulmates, do you guys REALLY believe there is that ONE person destined to be your perfect match, or do you believe there are lots of people compatible with you, but you just have to find ONE among billions of people before you die.
I would like to believe there is that ONE person, but the thought of maybe I'll not find her before I die makes me feel depressed. When I feel that way, I'd rather believe in the second one.

Fearing death today arent we? The more you fear death the more you make it your enemy. Same resoning behind racism and bigotry, fearing and distancing yourself from that which you don't understand. anyways...
I'd use one wish to wish for one less wish...therefore having only one left...with that last wish I'd probably wish to have a simpler mind, sometimes it's better to be a happy and dumb pig, than and intelligent and troubled person......
or I'd just wish for a metric ton of gummy worms, that would be nifty... |

Luna you are bringing up that question Im sure everyone asks at least once. My answer or at least my resolve is this:
I do believe there are people (does not have to be JUST one) that are capable of being your companion. Why tell yourself there is only ONE girl out there? I mean if that girl lives in China, well, your screwed and I doubt youll ever get the chance to meet her my friend. We are at what 7 billion people in the world. Now I think about 600 million (correct me if Im wrong) live in the US now. Im sure there are some crazy girls out there who are as nuts as I am. Im sure its possible to find them you have to learn how and where to reach out to find your soul mate.
Personally Im trying to find my soul mate myself still. I think Im on the right track.
*sigh * Luna why do you have to make me think about stuff like this?
