You know, I know some might say I am only 16 and what I am doing is good enough for my age but I don't think so. I am no good enough. Especially after seeing all of you people's work. I feel insignificant. I am going to work in Disney someday but I am not sure if I am good enough to even go into the college. (Sheridan) If any of you people felt the same at some point in your life and want to tell me about it that would be very nice. Please inspire this poor little lost soul.

Work your butt off, my friend.. no matter how good you think you are, there's always someone else who could put you to shame. I feel like that a lot, but its good to remember, the amount of effort you put into your work and studies results in where you will be tomorrow. I try to draw until my fingers are numb now.

School is a big obstacle for me. I guess I try to do too much. I take all the advance courses and they are SO demanding and I am always caught up at work and stuff I barely have time to do anything art related. Maybe I should drop all the courses and concentrate more on art

I feel personally being good isn't just enough, your right in that you need to minimalize your life,or focus it properly.
dont let the need to become real good stress you out, imagine you would be happy being a starving artist just as much as if you were working for disney. |

hey man, i'm 17 and i totally feel that way.. i've been coloring in coloring books, and drawing half-assed doodles for a reasonable amount of yeats, but about 6 monthes ago i decided i needed to refine my understanding of HOW htings are to the eye, vs how i put them down on the paper. i've gotten a lot better, and a lot of the people i know tell me that i've gotten better, but even with only 6 monthes of refinements, and 4 of this new found painting technique, i still personally feel i COULD be better.
That perhaps even I should be better. So we're in the same boat.

Fate: "Fate decides it all" -- maybe you should start by dropping this phylosophy and reaching for your goals. (I can relate though) ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

are you sure you want work at disney i have heard things about that place
things like they will only hire the absolute supreme which means that they probably won't consider you until you are atleas 35(and probably even older) and you have spent atleast the last 25 years drawing only and exactly what you see(not what your mind sees) everyday and even after you present your portfolio to them of your absolute best they will want you to spend another 2 years working on their stuff before you even get considered....don't hold me to this it might not be exactly right |

it's all bound to fail anyway, don't spend effort on anything, you'll get through your life alotta easier that way. fuck art, get yourself a real job instead..

Faustgfx was the only boy cheerleader at his school.
I dont think you have anything to worry about. When I was 16 I never thought about it that much. Its good that you are thinking about it now. Being aware is half the battle. Work hard for what you want, thats the only way you'll get there.

Robert,
It'll be Okay, especially since you are going to come sketching at the zoo with us. I would suggest posting your work on this site for crits. I know that's hard, but I think it'll be good for you to see what they've got to say!

Can you guys tell me about your art-related education background? I think I should've had more lessons and learn stuff but I'm like totally self taught (maybe that's why I can only do half ass job done) So I see all these digital art works and sure part of it technology but most of them are skill right? Where did you guys learn how to do all these? I should start to get a little serious if I want to succeed.

hey fate, I am 17, and feel exactly the same way as you. Maybe we should start a thread with only 15 - 18 year olds and compare our work or something..
anyway speak to you later man. |

Vector, that's not a bad idea!
I'd love to compare strengths and weaknesses with people close to my age.
