Hi. Is anyone going to be in San Jose this week for the 2001 Game Developers Conferences? (Or for any other reason, for that matter....)
I was thinkin' it would be fun to have a little Sijun get-together some time next weekend. Apparently, the conferences end at 3:30 PM on Saturday, so perhaps a late lunch (or early dinner) could be arranged, somewhere near the convention center. If anyone who'se familiar with the city would like to act as a tour guide that would probably work out best, otherwise we can just wander the streets like a bunch of vagrants until we find some place to eat.
If you're interested, e-mail me at:

Hope to see you there! |

I was suppose to go, but had to cancel. I've been sick for the past 2 weeks, plus my father is terminally ill. Hope you enjoy it.
Some nice people to meet there however... Don Seegmiller (should probably attend his lecture) and Shane Caudle will be there at the Epic booth...

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things go as well for you and your father as they possibly can.
Maybe I'll catch you at E3? ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

I was going, but now I have to attend the Bay Area Maya Users Group meeting on Thursday night. Anyone going to that?

Damn it! If only it was happening a week later, I could go! But... can just anybody get into GDC or E3, or do you have to be a developer or a member of the press?

Yes, you need to be a developer or press guy to get into either. And the GDC tickets are like $200 - $1600, depending how nuts you want to go attending conferences/lectures/etc. E3 is a lot cheaper, and it's much easier to weasel your way into. (Not that I have to, being a developer. )
Erm. Eh. I completely forgot to mention. I'm not actually going to GDC (too broke), it just happens that I'm going to be in San Fransisco the same week, and I figured it would be a good time to meet up. I should be *AT* E3 though. 'Tis good fun. |

i'm going. seems like a number of people on this forum or at least number of people connected to people on this forum (i.e. presto guys) are presenting at GDC. my guess is that this thread isn't getting play because nobodies going, but rather that not enough people are reading "Digital Art Discussion"... oh well... |
