Ok... I've been having these vivid dreams lately and they all have the same sort of theme. I'll post them here and see if anyone else draws the same conclusion as I did..
Last Night -
I was chasing a dog, on foot. I could see it... it never got any further away but I've never been able to get it... it was in an american street....
Just as I'm gaining on the dog this taxi overtakes me and pulls out between me and the dog, then goes to a gas station which was on the left. The taxi stops and then I realise there's a guy who look like Bob Marley... I can't see the dog so I go up to him and say (for some reason) "This is going to sound like the Blues Brothers but have you seen a dog?"... so he points to a guy on the other side of the road. Looks exactly like Elwood Blues. So the Elwood Blues-alike is waving a suitcase and pointing down the street where the dog went...
In another I'm trying to find my french class (don't know why) so I'm looking all over the school and no-one is telling me where it is. I finally find the room but the class has long gone.
In another I'm walking down the street, and decide I'm going to visit some friend. So I got looking for the house. I know where it is but I can't find it... it goes dark, then gets light again. I'm walking back, I see this group of people who I have to walk around. Two old men, 3 women and a couple of children. The old men look like Matisse and Picasso. As I'm about to walk past them the Matisee-alike points at me and says to the rest of the group "Look, there's an idiot". The group just look at me then carry on, leaving me confused.
Weird eh?

You're looking for something in life, but you don't know exactly what it is, or how to get it. You look to others for help, but they can't offer it.
The group-idiot one, well, you feel outside of the in-crowd. Because of this, you feel like you lack self-worth.
Just my take.

i had a dream last night that was really weird, i almost controlled it...for some reason i was looking at someone who was laying on the ground, and i realized that dreams could be scary...so the person morphed into this zombie-like thing on the ground....i felt fear, but i knew i was causing the change...so i was in controll....
the right brain, lymbic system, and the r-complex are highly active during dreams, the logical left side is usually dedicated to the task of logging the events of the day into long term memory...if a part of that left brain is concious during a dream (usually near the time you start to get out of REM) it seems like you become the observer of the dream as your left brain comes back into full functionality...
that's my theory anyways...now if i can learn to controll this..... |

Most of my dreams usually never made sense at all, they would be anything from my nintendo contoller talking to me, to suddenly jumping on a train full of rice. Now as I have become older, they seem to make more sense, with some meaning to them I am starting to discover.

I had a dream last night where a guy attacked me with a knife. I grabbed his hand and started kicking him, he ran away, and I started to chase him with my switchblade yelling something like, "you wanna see a real knife, motherfucker?!"(which is interesting since I don't cuss a lot in real life) Then I come back some time later and someone poisons me. My brother and I go to look for the antidote and start to be chased. So, I look at my brother and say, "Well, you have jump-jets. Fly us outta here." At which point, he turns into optimus prime and we flew away.
Make sense out of that. |

hey all
Well I don't know about everyone else but as soon as I realize that I am dreaming I am in total control oh, and you want to hear a weird dream, my class ( i think) takes a bus to some hills and we all have a bed sheet (or something similar) and we all run and jump from the tops of the hills and glide around, it seriously rocks as do all of my dreams concerning flight, it feels real. Oh and does anyone else (when your only half asleep) have a dream about slipping on a ladder or something and suddenly jolt awake and your actually sorta jolting your leg that you slipped with. Anyway thats all...tata...or is this just a dream?

Lol...you guys are lucky! I have maybe one dream a year (that I can remember at least). Sad, but true. I don't know why, but that's the way it is. The few dreams that I have remembered are really vivid. I had one about two months ago where there was an earthquake. It was so real that I actually jumped out of bed and stood under the doorway until I realized it was just a dream... |

LOL, this may sound really weird, but i can wake up from a dream whenever I want to (I'm about to get eaten by a moster, and I go, "screw thim, i'm waking up," and I wake up. Also, most of my dreams seem to have a map, which I cannot leave, and I don't have too much control over them. Weeird... |

Friday i dreamt i walked through a narrow street, got attacked and bitten (more like impaled) by a giant spider, after which i turned into some gorey half-spider and devoured my relatives. I then laid eggs in their corpses, which gave birth to millions of litte spiders covered in yellow goo.

There is a theory which says that your dreams don't mean anything - the chemical reactions/electric impulses in your brain just go firing off at night while you sleep and your unconscious brain tries to interpret them, unsuccessfully.
Having said that, many of my dreams are based in the house I grew up in as a child, and my primary school, so who knows? |

I really hope to hell they don't mean anything, because I keep having this dream where a big, ugly darkness monster comes & steals my eyeballs.... There's an old legend that says if a darkness monster takes your eyeballs, you'll become one when you die. Of course, I don't REALLY believe in darkness monsters, but sometimes, when the lights are out.... Never mind. Forget I said anything. I AM sane. I really, really am!

A couple people complain of not being able to dream? Well, you dream every night, it's if you remember them or not... (I think most folks know this...but) if you would like to try remembering your dreams, set your alarm clock maybe 15 min to a half hour earlier than you usually get up. In this way you should remember them. Yep. Happy dreamin'.

Our bodies can go quite awhile without rest, when they must. But our minds- our minds need a break. I think our minds get so fucking bored with our day to day lives that as soon as they can they go apeshit and work on a level that is closer to their potential. As for people that have really banal dreams, (?). I have many flying dreams, so many that occasionally, when running, especially if it's really windy out, I'll kinda have the sensation that I could fly if I held out my arms and leaped. This and other personal experiences lead me to believe that dreams are important. That's also, in part, why I feel sorry for anyone spending thier life doing data entry. |
