Ok, i guess i have a couple questions. I'm starting to apply for some internships over the summer with some known and not so known game/3D/2D companies. Some of these companies are just asking for resumes and cover letters, but I think i'm going to send them maybe a mini portfolio type thing. Do you think this is smart? Or do you think I will just piss people in the human resources department off with more mail?

Damn, I had something else i was hoping someone could help me with but as I sit here I forgot. But any other information would be great.

thanks,
Todd

Man i wish i could take an internship but : 1. Im not in a college program and
2. All the internship iint game and graphics are mostly in the US and you need to be legal to work in the USA lol.

anyways I recently applied to colleges and im working on portfolio's base on what each colleges want =. Well My art teacher at school ( Each year he sorts out portfolio's at Sheridan college, OCAD and other colleges in ontario) is giving us a crash course on portfolios. The first thing he told us is to send the school exactly what they want to see and how they want to see it. For exemple if they ask for 5 original peices, 4 figure drawings and 1 sculture well send exactly that in. Do not send 6 originals or 4 orginal OR else they will put your portfolio in the trash. If they ask to put everything in an envoloppe well put it in an envollope not a plastic bag =). The point is send what they ask for. Dont think that sending extra will give you an advantage and whatnot. They will most likely ask you to send a portfolio if your resume gets picked.

You're in Chico? There's all sorts of stuff if you come south a little bit to the Bay Area. Hell, get an intership at ILM.

Ya, i'm appyling to places in the bay area, that's where i'm going to be living half the time. I'm applying to places like Pixar (haha, crossing my fingers on that one). And ILM only accepts Juniors and up, but i think i'll apply anyway.

It's just a matter of getting it, they are such desired jobs I want to do something to make my application "stand out." Maybe by sending a portfolio along even though they don't ask for it. I'm just don't know if I should do that, i'm debating.
