Woah, just saw a commercial for the sony viao tablet. Looks too cool! Wow, is it new or what and has anyone used one before and is it good etc. It's straight painting onto the tablet and the tablet looks a nice size. Wow I want one!!! |

Looks pretty coo....but I think it serves as the actual monitor....which I don't like. This is only my opinion, but I prefer having my wacom and my monitor seperate...though it does appear to be a nice advent. I'm sure it's pretty big (standard moniter size) but.....like I said I can't get with the idea of two in one. Looks nifty though.

Yeah you're right. I went to the site, and basically it's a whole complete computer, not an added tablet like the graphire, so it sucks. I went to the site and saw the pen and I wouldn't be surprised if the pen for that is a Wacom Pen, they look so similar. The thing is 3000, a little too much hehe . After looking at it from the site it doesn't really look that great. Oh well. Oh, btw the thing is 15 inches...not bad.

heheh....that darn pen! You know I was thinking the same thing, I'm cocfident that that pen is 90% wacom...hell you can look at the whole technology and tell that it was derived from the sucess of the wacom generation of tablets...nice try from sony though. |

Not only does Wacom have a new model out, Wacom has an OLDER model out as well. Back in the neolithic predawn of the digital age (two or three years ago) Wacom introduced a screen/drawing tablet combo --but it only displayed 1000's of colors instead of in the millions. It was even more expensive than this new model and just couldn't find a market.

Iv used it (Viao) before, It's good but its lagged. On a good stroke the curser follows behind about 1-2". Just not as responsive as a wacom. My concern is future scratches; look at your tablets surface, then imagine that on your monitor.
