Hmm I did a search for this but didn't come up with an answer. Is there a noticeable difference between a graphire's sensitivity to an intuos? I'm going to be using a graphire to color in and shade images along with doing details so is there a big difference between the graphire's sensitivity when I'm doing these compared to the intuos that has 2X the pressure sensors? |

Yeah, there is. But it's slight and somewhat over-rated. Currently, even though I have an Intuos I prefer my old ArtZ II tablet. Sure my old ArtZ only has 1024 levels of pressure (half that of the Intuos), but I like the smaller feel of the pen tool and slicker surface of the tablet. You can see how much of an impact the extra levels of sensitivity have for me.... I prefer the older model just because it "feels" better. If you're going to do a lot of drawing work where the smoothest transitions in line width will be an issue go with the latest Intuos.
A bigger issue to focus on is the drawing dimensions of the tablet. I'd seriously AVOID those $99 tablets that feature index card size drawing area. They're too "wibbly" for drawing. Go with a 6X8" minimum. The 12X12's are nice but expensive. Make sure you've got enough desk for those since they really chew real-estate.
