To you, and any other people who do flash animations....
What's your technique? Process is a better word probably. I've been wanting to do some animations...but find making them's too frustrating than rewarding. So a simple:
1) new movie
2) draw
3) F6
4) bleh...
5) flooohp...
6) repeat 2 through 6
...would be most appreciated. Also, if anyone has the link to the person's page who makes the disney type cartoon shorts in flash... I've tried looking in the archive with some pretty poor luck, thanks |

I'd apreciate this too... I tried to do some charachter animation, but I ended up having every element (arms, legs etc) in separate layers since the shape tween screwed it all to hell, and it didn't turn out nice at all...
damnit! I just want a little muppet banging himself senseless on a lamppost!

Nested Movies.
If you want to animated say the eyes and mouth of a face and move the head and move the body. You...
1. Make a movie for the eyes. Blinking etc.
2. Make a movie for the mouth. Talking, smiling, whater.
3. Make a movie for the head and put the eyes and mouth movies in it. That way if you rotate the head, the eyes and mouth will rotate with it. You can tilt the head bob it up and down, whatever.
4. Make a movie for the body and put the head movie in it and so on an so on. When you animated the body movie, say bouncing up and down across the screen (like walking) the head and of course the eyes and mouth will follow.
Hope that makes sense. |

Yeah I guess that sounds reasonable... it'll be hard to not get each frame to look odd tho, I mean the charachter looking diffrent in some frames and stuff...
