I know from what I've read on this forum. That comics are drawn on Bristol board 2ply or 3ply ,17inches X 11inches. Albeit not pre-cut paper is used!

However what i don't get it what does a Bristol Board look like? or the other material use to make comics like what kinda of pencils, etc? I know a stupid simple question , but really i don't know!
Can someone point out a webpage where i can view all this? Or better yet you pro's can you take pictures around your work area so i can see the atmosphere you create in?

I've replied to a few threads like this before, but I'll go ahead and reply again.

I'm not a pro but... I use 2-ply smooth bristol board 11x17. Pencils I use 3h to sketch and 4b to render. The eraser I use is a magic rub... doesn't smear as much. One good place to look at what comic artists use is: http://www.kubertsworld.com/depot.html

Spook -

Both Dean and Chapel are right. Bristol board is basically just a heavier stock of paper. The reason it is used is that it can take quite a beating. Theoretically you could draw comics on toilet paper if you can find an inker that can get the results on it. What I'm trying to say is, that you don't have to be overly worried about the "tools".

But basically most pencilers I know use 3h and harder, in either leadholders, or mechanical pencils, and draw on bristol board 2 or 3ply. Most Art Stores should have some version of Bristol Board, and the blueline stuff is pretty good for practice.

Hope that helps.
