Woohoo! I've got a Wacom tablet on its way... come on UPS, don't fail me now. I've been interested in drawing as a side hobby for years, and I've looked at a lot of books, and done exercises out of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.
I've always wanted to make computer games but figured they would always have crappy art in them because I couldn't draw.
This forum is the best ad for Wacom I've ever seen. You always hear about how people find this forum and then they buy a Wacom tablet and start really trying to make some good art, or start drawing again after many years of not doing any.
There is a lot to be said for an open community where people can come forward with what they are working on, help each other out, and hopefully start breaking new ground. It reminds me of this book I am reading right now called "Hackers, Heros of the Computer Revolution" by Steven Levy. It talks about the Homebrew Computer Club in the 1970's and how it basically created the open/hackable home PC's and spawned tons of companies including Apple. Because the people could get together and share techniques and so on.
Well, hopefully someday soon I will inflict some of my art on the forum. I hope there is a Draw Club in February. That would be cool to try to do.
Sorry about the lame username.
