What color is best for an underpainting? and how do you get rid of the false colors, values aren't the problem the smooth transition of midtones are my problem. I keep getting they always look to acidy and washed out. Sorry I can't post a example of a portrait my internet connection doesn't work on the photoshop computer and I don't have a ZIP drive. |

Take a quick look at the colours thread from S4Sb. have you already tried a search in the archives under skin tones, or skin colors, or portraits, etc.? It'll take time but there's lots of stuff there.
