I have a graphire graphics tablet from wacom but whenever i attempt to use it I give up in frustration.

It seems so unnatural to use it...are there some techniques/websites/tutorials for help on using this tablet

any and all help is appreciated

p.s. this my first post here but I have been lurking here for a while now and am in awe of all the great artists here

Unnatural?!?! How?

It is basically a pen, and I figure you probably know how to use a pen right?

Need more info to be able to help you - what software are you using? What is it that is not feeling right? Is the pen functioning correctly (to the best of your knowlege)?

Ampa.

well, i mean it just seems as its easier to draw with traditional media then with the tablet

which is strange, because as u said, both are basically the same, except one is digital and the other is traditional.

im not sure exactly why it feels unnatural (perhaps thats the wrong way to describe it)

the pen works, the tablet works

im using painter with it right now...which seems to be a decent program to work with

Does it feel unnatural becase you're using a pen, and its drawing it on the screen instead of where you are writing with the pen??? I dunno... i dont have a graphire yet, despite my excitement that i was in a few months ago of getting one. lol. I instead spent close to 600 bux for x-mas on my snowboard, having muchos more fun, but ill get a wacom sooner or later

Maybe if you stick a piece of paper across the top. So it feels more like paper and so it does not slide around as easy...

Using it does get easier over time (When I first used my wacom I remember flinging the pointer over the whole damn screen), but it's hard to get the exact same feeling as with pen and paper: the surface is more slippery, and you're drawing on a screen.

You can adapt though, and pen and paper don't have Ctrl+Z
