I can't seem to be able to get a file down to this size...

6kb

I am trying to get a file down to 6KB so I can useit as the file to spray paint in
half- life...problem is I can't get the file size down from 13KB...any ideas? I have the little KID A bear set up in the right 'size' file just not the right 'size' you get me?

Thanks,
Ian

Try to use big blocks of a solid color. Make sure the dimensions of the image are divisible by 8 (I'm not sure of the specs on HL decals). Avoid antialiasing. If it's a JPG, turn up blurring.
In short, make it look more like crap.

And if all else fails, just use the goatse pic like everyone else.

use photoshop's gif exporter.

before exporting, make it indexed color, and say, maximum of 10 different tones/shades?

ok, setting it as an indexed colour got it down, but it's like 4.13KB now, im wondering if it has to be exactly 6KB because all of the others are 6KB... *shrugs*

too my knowledge, the damn bear is black and white, so convert it to 256 greys.

open up one of the original half-life spraycan-picture files and make your new ones attributes exactly the same(ie: same bit depth, same size, same everything)
