You guys can laugh all you want, I do too looking back at these. Amateur and filter heavy, these were the first two pictures that got me started about two months ago

i do like the first one but i don't like it's colors. Maybe a rusty version would be cool |

Hey, that's better than me...
My first PS images were things like the "sheet metal" and "nebula" textures from sites like DBM.
*giggles*
Oh I take that back, in high school we had an assignment where we have to scan in an image, run an emboss filter on it, convert it to greyscale and paint over the top of it, hehe :>

Actually, I started at work. The other guy that uses that computer during the day had photoshop with all the extra plug-ins(eyecandy, kpt3,5 and 6).
I don't even use filters anymore, except for maybe a smart blur to clean up a shading job or something.

I still use filters..
it depends what looks good and if its needed or not.
all the blur filters if used correctly can produce a nice effect..
My first photshop pic about 10 months or so ago
one of my later one... see different styles used.. the later one is only paintbrush compared to the dodge burn pic above..
