Yay yay yay! I finally got a tablet! I'm so happy now! To try and get used to using it I decided to take a sketch and color it. I happened upon this thread here and decided this drawing would be my first victim

http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008019.html

I cannot believe how much easier it is to use to the tablet, all my lines look so much more fluid and controlled. I think I'm going to have a fun time trying to master all the different techniques I've seen floating around this forum. Anyways, here's the image I did:

Crits/Comments/Rants/Raves and all that stuff are always welcome of course

It looks neat, but I think her left eye (our right) is too far from the nose.
The hair looks beautiful btw.

Umm... tried to fix that crazy eye that's trying to walk off her face =)

I also tried to define her cheeks just a tad more.

I actually thought about doing silver hair but I really wanted to play around with some color. Next time I'll try silver. ^_^

Oh Jez I'm so envious
*smashes crappy MS standard mouse*

well you really seem to like blueish hair
Maybe some more shading in her face would make her more plastic espescially the cheeks and eyholes are in need of some more depth,.....although well... I am not sure!
..but now that I look on her cheeks: did you noticed that she has two different cheekbones on each side? Somehow I got this impression by comparing shading and lighting in the two face-halves.

Yeah, bubonic - I tried to change some things but I don't think I did too great of a job, hehe... my knowledge of proper anatomy is somewhat lacking ^_^

Hehehe, purple/blue hair rocks... I had this unhealthy obsession with wanting to dye my hair purple in high school so maybe I'm trying to release all those built-up desires into my artwork, hehe It was a little difficult to try and give her face form when it was coming from a fairly basic sketch. I would like to tinker with this one a little bit more, define her hair and face some more - that was really quick hair. I dunno, we'll see. It was just some Wacom practice

Thanks Ragnarok!

Jezebel: I must say that is quite nice! The change is almost drastic from your previous mouse works. Glad you're getting used to it so quickly. =) Good work!

I like this pic alot, your portraits have a very soft character to them that's very appealing.

One thing I would say is that the eyes are usually in the middle (vertically) of the face. Take a ruler or pencil and measure the distance(roughly) from the bottom of the chin to the eye level. The distance from the eye level to the top of the head should be roughly the same distance.

Anyway, a real cool pic, nice one!
