Second time I bloody post in the wrong forum
Ah well... Like I said there:
A new friend of mine (you know who you are ) told me, when I said I had no inspiration, that I should draw something completely different. And he suggested "loss" or "emptiness"... And I kind of just doodled. And this popped up.
Soooo... thanks for the inspiration
Now, the catch here is... I can't come up with a bloody background for it

dig it.
why does everyone seem to be making these heart-dug-outta-chest right after the big fucking flame storm that went over the black/white ink-like drawing thread of mine..?
(she called me a friend! yay!)

Enayla, you amaze me...well, you probably amaze everyone here! I wish my doodles looked that good. If you get a chance, take a gander at the portrait I'm working on(recognizable post). I would really like to hear any advice/criticizm you could provide.

i reaaaaally love this idea
thnx alot for posting
although there could be some minor corrections, like placing the 'heart' not totally centered in the left breast
or the making the two points where the arms are broken not so regulary as they are at the moment.
just some ideas
but anyway, i love this idea, did i say that already? hehe
super work

Hrm, this is weird. I could've sworn I had posted a reply to all this :/ Ah well... here goes again.
Bubonic: Thankee Glad you like it.
faust: Of course I did And thanks for the advice... I am aware of the fact that I often make my images too smooth... it has to do with the fact that I suck at textures Well...weeeeeh... I'll give it a shot anyway.
Alloy: Thanks And I think I'll do just that
Sock: Hm, you might be right about that... I'll work that into the picture on my next try
Ballistic: Hey, she has no arm, and no lower body - what the hey do you need nipples for

excellent job on the texture! very fine work there, enayla. the hair doesnt look as solid as the head and body but it's still quite nice. |

Last version of the picture for tonight! Added some details (like the discreet moss around the base of it) and just tweaked her hair...

If that's just a doodle, I can't imagine how good it would look if you actually put your mind to it.
As a background setting, you could place her in an abandonned flower garden with a dried out water fountain a few metres behind her resting in the middle of the garden. The garden is surrounded by an aged black metal fence and a wide open gate hanging only by it's hinges. And have green vines creeping up the fence, the fountain and even part of the statue.
Just an idea. |

I think the concept is pretty cliche, but hey, the drawing rules. I love the granitesque texture.

Drorak: I'm glad you like it And as to the background, I was kind of thinking along those lines (though nowhere near that precise)...I'll see what I can do
Spitfire: Heeeh... I know it's a bit cliche, but hey, sometimes that's fun too Glad you like the texture... Took me some thinking to figure out how to do it
faust: Yay!

one thing - is there a reason you left out nipples? |

Solitaire: Actually, yes. I couldn't get the nipple to look as if it was made of stone :/ It looked...weird. So I left it out. Laziness, maybe.

I think it still needs texture . . . not a texture map, to speak in 3d terms, like what you've added, but a bump map. Do you know what I mean? Something to help loose the smooth feel . . . right now it looks great to me as a photoshop painting, but a bump map-like texture would make it look like stone. Working with some of the built-in ps filters might even do it. This would be a really fun 3d project if you're in to that.

select highlights from all over (even relative highlights) -> apply gentle Unsharp Mask to the selection
