I think that's a valid point. I've wondered that myself, why everyone has to draw females half-naked, almost-naked, or completely naked. It just seems pointless to me. Not all females have to be portrayed as sex objects, believe it or not. It seems like most people think the only purpose females serve in art is to turn guys on.

I'm not gay or anything, I just think it's kind of ridiculous.

tinusch: i agree with you SO fervently. it gets old after a while. i find characters that AREN'T blatantly sexual so much more interesting than the ones created only to make guys drool.

If you are male, ages 10-16 then yes.
If you are male, ages 25-up..and you'll never grow up..yes.

It's the genre of today's fantasy, sci-fi.. artwork. What get's your attention more, half naked woman, or fully clothed woman? It doesn't have to be a positive response, but chances are the half naked woman will draw more attention. You have to also consider the audience this type of art is for. It certainly isn't for your parents, it's for college students and teenagers. These are the people who buy the stuff.

It's all fantasy, we want the women to be wasped shaped with tig bits and the men to have 'V' shaped bodies with muscles on top of muscles. Just pick up a comic book and you'll see what I mean.

These types of questions wuold be better suited for another forum. But, probably yeah and for a few reasons.

First, the figure is one of the greatest areas of study in art. I looked through my gallery and almost all of my pictures deal with people. We relate everything to ourselves -- even a really dramatic landscape or spaceship scene usually has a few elelments that help relate the scope of it to us.

Secondly, most action figures have to do a lot of moving. Loose/baggy clothing tends to hender movement and action.

Thirdly, this is just too stupid a question to deserve attention.
