Hi people, a few of you know me, because I was just a quake skin artist, and never thought i could do paintings.
My wife wanted me to try... and Deranged suggested me to go check here, nice place for pimping!
so, here we go!

Man, you've definitely got a lot of talent, and some of those pics look REALLY good, but I think they could do without the smudge tool. They're awesome pics, but the smudge gives it a messy look. |

ouaou, that second pic is really nice ; like the style of your stuff, i also agree with other people that the smudge tool is too much used (have you ever tryed Painter , that water tool may easily replace the smudge one from photoshop and would do the job you probably want on your pics).

Well, well, well, I used the smudge tool that "much", because I liked how the colors and the pic were "moving" while i was drawing. I was a complete different feeling from old school airbrush/darken/lighten/soften I used for skins.
it was very close to real oil painting feeling, without simulating the oil painting (I mean painter does reproduce that feeling very well, but it does reproduce the look as well), that's why it so "smudged".
I didn't want to make ultraphotorealistic stuff, at least I think I'm not yet ready to make paintings with too much details, but I'm moving toward it slowly (le cheval bleu is my last one, was just a pic for my wife's mother, and it's a bit more classical).
And I don't think I'll stop using the smudge tool anyday =)... maybe I'll try to enhance its "blury push" effect, I duno... I just like playing with it and the "ethereal" feeling it gives to the pics.
Toast!, I used Paintshop Pro 7 for doing these, because I don't have the money to buy painter or photoshop, and I don't like these "factories" at all, I can play with painter, but photoshop is just "not for me". =)

These are cool and I think the smudge use is very effective with these.

It's Ogro! One of the few people in the world who can say they have a Quake2 player model named after them |

Wow, this is a different style and looks good.
The man in the pic number #4 is Comodo from Gladiator, isn't he? |

Yup, in "hate", the empty head is looking like Comodes because, errr..well, it's Comodes!!
Actually, this guy had such a crazy, evil, mad attitude (in Gladiator and U-turn), that I couldn't help using his face for this pic =). |

My favorite one is the second to last... really nice!
Overall, I like them. Maybe a little heavy on the smudge, but I think it's not a major deal. Cool ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

nice work ogro. i remember the ogro/magarnigal team that shocked the low-poly modeling community :P it's nice to see you doing this kind of work as well.
mag. you can model and animate so well, how come we never see any skins or traditional work from you? |
