Ok, i know its not the "normal" concept design, but who cares, its not a complete picture, so i would suggest to call it a concept.
Its not finished, i want to paint the whole creature with body and stuff, but i just say chapel.

i like this.

i'd suggest a bit more "dynamic flow" form for it. *cough* like giger's alien's head *cough*.

also, how bout some pipe-like things coming out of the gill/ear like things?

?

That concept drawing kicks ass and I love Giger's work. So, what will the concept be for anyway? Man I have to get myself a graphics tablet asap.

Thanks a bunch.
When i painted it i thought, i should not make it not so much biomechanic, but more just biological. right now i think, it might be a good idea to add some mechanical parts and some metal stuff.

Its a concept for a 3d model that i want to build in 3dsmax.
and by the way: I badly want a tablet, too, cos ive got none yet.

Looks really good, I think the neck is a little small though because it's having to support a very large head.

hey masticator! I didn't even notice you start coming here m8.. I like your concept so far, its looking great! Definetely be worth developing more into him.. Maybe you could add a huge mechanical spine coming up his back and into his head with all wires n stuff coming out.. look forward to seeing more of him and maybe the 3d model too!

masticator-

I like it! I can even imagine what his body might look like. In my minds eye I see a body that tilts forward to the waist, and legs with "reverse" knees (like a dogs)

IMHO it was better without the tubes, but that's just me. If you did this with a mouse, man you're gonna rock when you get a tablet! Keep up the good work!

looks better m8, need to add some shadows under the new bits u added so it looks less flat tho. Maybe some kinda bolts coming out of ripped flesh above his eyes and down the centre of his forehead would be cool too.

yep, i know, that metal stuff is not exactly what i wanted to do.
i think i will do it again and make it bigger, more the giger style, with dark metal and bigger metal pipes.
i hope to get my wacom intuos a4 today, if so, i will try to paint this today.

and THANKS to all so far for the feedback. that helps a lot.

I think you should stay clear of the biomechanical, and just keep it biological, but very dark and grey still. Of course its up to you, but you seem to be sliding into a very well used style with biomechanics. that is a great alien concept and i think adding too much of a giger look may ruin it. Just my opinion though, i love giger, im looking at my 2 giger posters now. hehe

Considering that your concept was painted with a mouse, its amazing. You have talent, that goes without saying. You mentioned that you want to make the alien look more biological, well you could add some vains on the face. As for the neck, well could support the head, if the nose was made of a light material.

looks good...goodvalues...ur on the right track. Remember form follows funtion. For a more successful design askurself, how does this alien breath, walk, sleep, show emotion(does ithave any emotion)? Once you've answered the questions that you have defined then the design willcome out....Still ur concept looks goodto me!

Do you want to join me and the restr of the team in developing a kick-ass game? We already have 14 members and we are making our own 3d engine. This is part-time and all members will be paid fairly for the work the put into this game. So if you are interested I can tell some more about the game we are developing and who we are. Do you know anything about skinning? If not we can teach you. Please, let me!
