I love your work janne. This looks great. I think the blue lighting is not hitting enough places though. |

Cool Very Tim Burton-y indeed. I'm having trouble figuring out where the blue light is coming from...the source seems a little awkward to me...Gotta love the blue and red colours in there tho

I really like your style! Kind of reminds me of Gotham in the Batman movie that Burton did.
Maybe if you develop some more buildings in the background an put the blue light in the center of the city that would help add some more contrast. |

As usual, very nice Janne. =) Quite expressive. I also get the Tim Burton type feel from it. |

Hey! Very nice.
I was just curious about what type of brushes you use and at what settings? All my work in painter are either extremely blurry.. extremely sharp.. or with a lot of lines (as in brush-hair lines). I think I still have a lot of praticing to do with painter. And if you had any custom brushes, how'd bout sending them my way?

looks great janne, nice work. I definetely see the tim burton influence. I think more of the blue lighting would probably add to the mood more tho.

Hey that's pretty cool, I like the bridges that go from one building to another.
Can't think of any crits really, other then that, as said, the blue light could use a more defined source.
Hope to see you do more in this style, I like it a lot!

thanks all! i agree with your comments on blue light and all. i should have planned this one better... and it lacks in composition too but i only wanted to practise doing buildings and it just ended up like this(yes, excuses ).
zoso: that was the stuff i was looking at when i made the sketch.
kardis: i have custom brushes but they really aren't that special. i had the photoshop paintbrush in mind when i made them so they are just really simple and fast. i guess the effect comes from the way i dabble with them... and the working res is 2000*2000 for me usually. it helps getting the sharp edges where i want them.
Capt.FlushGarden: it's painter and there is no tricks involved. this is something i made completely in photoshop: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~jannep1/workish/kuja2.jpg
i would dare to say that the style is still there even when it's completely ps paintbrushed. it's just something i cannot teach... sorry

Great as usual... you should post some process steps. Would be really interesting...
and yeah... reminds me of Dark City also... B-movie with some very funky designs and ideas... Everyone should see it.
