(nasty version)
Can some of you guys keep your pics under 500 megabytes? Or will I be forced to come round your house and hold my smoking modem chip against your eyeball for a while?

(nice version)
Err, sorry about that. Been one of those weeks. Anyway PLeeease keep your pics small, particularly if you plan on putting more than one in a thread. You and your friends and your workplace might all have T1s and dual ISDNs and what not but there's a big wide world out there and most of us don't. It gets real frustrating, the amount of pics I skip because bandwidth is scarce becomes rather annoying.
In the end it means I only wait for the 'name' folks' pics to download and I don't wanna do that.
There's really no reason for anything smaller than 800x600 to go over 100k.
cheers

yeah I hear ya...I have a really crappy connection. especially right now in the weekends. So that means reply to one post...3 new have arrived. Some pics are just too big. Just post an extra link to a higher resolution then. Atleast people can have a quick glance at what you do and if they are interrested. I had problems too. But I'm making sure my pics won't be too big as of now.

AHHHahahaha, I just had to laugh at the nasty version. The image that came to mind of a madman going to someone's house with a smoking modem was too funny. Anyway, replying to this to bump it so that more people might see this as a friendly reminder to size down their stuff a tad. I'm on a DSL and I still hate large downloads, particularly those that end up making me use that damn scroll bar at the bottom of the screen (mouse wheel doesn't go sideways, just up and down ) It helps when looking at an image to see it all at once instead of four different pieces. If people want to make a high res version available make a link to it. Thank you for your consideration.

*some of you guys pay by the download or something? OUCH, I've heard of bad internet rates outside of the US but that just sounds ugly*

Or not label it and have everyone ingnore it and hit the 'back' button when it's taking too long.
Take your pick. (This place needs a 'raise eyebrow' icon)

I have a 56k modem on aol. I dont see anyone having something much slower unless they got a 28k modem. I have no complaints in picture size. It really dosent take that long to download. How can you give crits if something has been croped or lessen the quality. Those are my views.
